Product Overview

The Champion Power Equipment 100380 19 in. Rear Tine Tiller is designed to be the workhorse behind your gardening passion. The 212cc engine powers a cast iron, gear-driven transmission housed in a heavy-duty cast-iron case. This machine features convenient handle controls and counter-rotation tilling. The most challenging ground is no match for the four 13.8 in. hardened steel tines and their bidirectional shredding design. The 19 in. tilling width and up to 8 in. tilling depth help you tackle large plots of ground with minimal effort, helping you move from tilling to planting in a flash. The adjustable tilling width makes it easy to till narrow spaces or wide rows. The large treads on the 13 in. self-propelled agricultural tires provide excellent traction, and since they are self-propelled, you only need to guide the tiller while it muscles through tough terrain. The easy-adjust depth gauge runs behind the tiller, allowing you work at a consistent depth and providing additional balance in different conditions. Our rear tine tiller is the perfect tool for the gardener who's serious about long-term performance and durability. Designed with a low oil shut-off sensor, this unit holds 0.9 Gal. of gasoline and has a 0.6 Qt. oil capacity (recommended 10W-30). EPA certified and CARB compliant, buy with confidence. Champion Support and our nationwide network of service centers will back your purchase up with a 2-year limited warranty and FREE lifetime technical support.

worst ever
Worst tiller i ever had. It is throwing soil around itself. It cannot move forward because it is too light to grip with wheels and move against reverse rotating tines! You have to push it! It is easier to dig up the soil with the shovel. And even faster, i think

Response from Champion Power ExpertJun 9, 2021
We are sorry to hear this. When tilling, it is best to not push down on the handlebars. Doing so can take the weight off the wheels, which makes them lose traction. Avoid trying to dig too deeply too quickly, especially when busting sod or when tilling soil that hasn’t been tilled for some time. Use
shallow depth regulator settings (only an inch or two deep) for the first passes through the soil. With each succeeding pass, dig another inch or two deeper. While tilling, relax and let the wheels pull the tiller along while the tines do the digging. If you require additional assistance, please give us a call at 1-877-338-0999 or send us an email at support@cpeauto.com. Thank you for your patience.

Despite the fact that I'm a hardcore Troy-Bilt rototiller fan I couldn't find a new one within my area. So I held my nose and took a chance on the Champion, and now I have no regrets about it. Excellent runner, superb digger even on new tilling area as I decided to expand the garden size this year. Does require some assembly but even with my lack of skills I had it up and running within the hour. Long term can't say much as I just got it less then 2 months ago, but seems well built and strong. Over all very satisfied with the Champion.

Good tiller
Easy to assemble but the provided wrenches suck, added the provided oil, filled with gas and it started right up. Tilled an area that was fill dirt with clumps of clay mixed in that was damp, not ideal, however the tiller performed excellent. Having used tillers in the past I am not unfamiliar on how to operate one. This exceeded my expectations. One hand operation is easily accomplished. My only complaint is that the tine drive is engaged when the wheels are in motion. If this could be resolved, it would be a solid 5 star review.

Not for rocky ground
Having already destroyed my small cultivator, I knew it was not going to be easy work for this tiller. it lasted about 40 feet before the tines locked up. Thought I'd jammed a rock in the tines, hit reverse, and the tines stopped turning completely. Font wheels still worked fine. Took it in my shop and investigated. Found the drive gear for tines broken in three pieces - see picture. After spending 45 minutes on hold, being assured my call was VERY important, I gave up and ordered the parts from their online parts store. At least that works pretty efficiently.

A real Earth Mover!
Moving into a house with a 1 acre backyard convinced me it was time to take "food growing" seriously. I needed to create a vegetable garden and I needed a tiller to turn over sod and earth that had been compacted for 40 years. The only previous experience I had with a tiller was a neighbors 40 year old "bone-shaker!". After studying the products available within my price range, I decided on the Champion Rear Tine Tiller. I was amazed at how easy it was to manage my new tiller. This was NO "bone-shaker." It was easy to start, relatively quiet (for a 212cc gas engine) and with the powered wheels moved easily over the ground. I tilled cautiously to a depth of about 2-3" at first and it easily ripped through the sod and compacted earth. Tilling the same row over again I was amazed at the amount of soil it turned over. This is a heavyweight earth mover with a lightweight price tag. I highly recommend this Champion Rear Tine Tiller.

Money Well Spent...
Starting a small cut flower business and needed to start prepping for planting. Yellow ripped thru the section easier than expected. I've used quite a few tillers and haven't liked most of them. This one went together easily, started right up and just did her business right.

This rototiller is exceptionally well built and handles all my rototilling needs. It was easy to put together, it's very sturdy, reliable and very effective at cultivating the dirt so I can move it. I am extremely impressed by this machine,
You don't offer in Canada
My 30 year old rototiller couldn't dig in a litter box anymore. I noticed my pressure washer motor would mount on the tiller body, so I purchased a new champion 196cc motor and it works better than it did new. I painted and threw on some decals, and now it fits in with all my other champion power equipment.
