3 in. Dia 224 cc 2-in-1 Upright Gas Powered Wood Chipper Shredder

Recently purchase to help clear a lot of brush. Has worked great but only about 12 hours of use, so far. I still have a lot of chipping to go so we'll see what the future holds?

Just got my chipper. Put it together in 10 mins, added oil and gas, and it started right up. Put a bunch of 2.5 and 3 in branches in and the machine gobbled them up. Easy to move around with the handles on the shredder. It cannot use E85 or E15 gas. Regular unleaded or E10 is required. So far so good. I recommend this product.

So I did a bunch of research and read all the reviews because I originally had the champion log splitter which I loved. The reviews were mixed some people loved it some people hated it but I figured I would give it a shot. After I set up the unit which took about 30 minutes I decided to start chipping small 1 inch branches that have been down for over a year. The entry for the branches is exactly 3 inches so if you have a 1 to 2 inch branch that is not perfectly straight it will not fit down in there. The top hopper was taking small pieces of pine with no problem but is soon as I put a quarter inch twig in, it wrapped around and got caught within the chopping wheel. I barely made five minutes of operation before I was taking the entire hopper apart to clear it out. This machine is perfect for the homeowner who has a small yard to do leaves and twigs, this is not good for branches.

Bought it to turn my tree trimmings into chip. Took it home, added the oil it cme with and gas. Started up right away, but smoked black smoke. It wanted to due, so I ran tge motor faster to avoid it wanting to die. The morniing was 72F, so cool perfect day to do yard work. Used the bag it came with. After inserting a few small branches, it clogged. The pieces were huge still. Cleared the clog and inserted more small branches. Clogged again. Thus time the pully rope separated from the handle. Had to modify it, so it wont do that again. Cleared out large pieces again. But still clogging. Turned out the exit chute was clogged to with chunks of branches, not chips. Clear clog and left bag out, watched as a 6 inch branch flew out, so definetly not chipping. Cleared clog, and iserted dead dry limb. Clogged with big pieces. Clered clog one more time, using previously cut tiny branches and it clogged for the last time and then decided to give up and return the chipper. 2 hrs of work and only 20 minutes of actual chipping. But not really chipping since pies i my opinion were large. Read someone eleses review and they experienced the exact same thing from clogging to pully problem. I normally don’t write a review, but this one I had ti let other know of my experience with this prodyct

So I looked at most of the reviews and decided that for the money $499 at HD this would probably do for me.. when I picked it up I checked everything because one of the reviews said that they forget to give you everything and sure enough they had forgotten the instructions, oil and bag and filter.. not sure why but mine was assembled by HD so into the car and home I went.. Oil in the machine a bit of gas I prefer to use 93 and she started right up...choke in and throttle open and as she starts open up the choke.. so like some of the reviews said putting a plastic bin to collect the chips is not going to work as they fly all over the yard ,, tried several variations and simply doesn't work use the bag they give you and make sure its on tight as this thing puts out a lot of air..wear gloves glasses and hearing protection as its loud and strong ..next the branches need to be straight so take a portable battery chainsaw or I used a battery reciprocating saw to trim the bigger bent branches off .. so in other words one person feeding the branches and another one fixing them to make sure they will go in to the woodchipper.. I use wood for my fireplace so I just saved the bigger pieces the were bent to burn later on ..this machine is not going to work for everybody so think carefully before you buy it but for me it will do ..

I purchased a Champion Chipper Shredder, Model No. 200946, I am very satisfied and would recommend this product to anyone looking to buy a solid wood chipper with an excellent warranty. Started right up!

Is this product works great follow the directions no problems

Tgese little chippers guve it heck trying to do it's job, but they just aren't suited for all branches up to 3" Dead, very dry, any branches that are not straight, or over 1" are very problematic.
