The Fertilizer Feeder Hose End sprayer fits onto any hose end and offers 4 different spray patterns with an easy on/off thumb control. It has a built-in anti-siphon feature to prevent backflow, large capacity bottle that holds up to one pound of material and automatically mixes dry, water soluble fertilizers without premixing. The rustproof polymer construction makes it durable and chemcial-resistant.

I had been looking for this type of applicator for quite awhile... Miracle Grow used to have this, but stopped making it. It is perfect for attaching an extension wand for those high and hard to reach areas.

very poor seal
The bottle leaks. The seal is cery poor quality. Does bot work as advertised. Was hoping to connect it to a sprinkler but it leaked all over, fertilizer waisted not worth what ubpay for this product. Note that there is a plastc molding seam on the bottle were it mates to the gasket and the gasket is a cery hard gasket that from the looks it would last for ever but in no way is rubbery to seal against any flat surface with that seating area.

Don't Bother without an O-Ring Seal
Leaks.
The previous identical Chapin sprayers used an O-Ring to seal at the top of the reservoir. This earlier version worked perfectly for a number of years - No problems. Eventually, the weight of the sprayer, fertilizer and hose wand caused a crack and a break requiring replacement.
The manufacturer has now saved a penny by using a thin rubber gasket that leaks (just like all the other brands of hose end sprayers now available).
If you can find the correct size O-Ring, then these units will work just fine.
Don't bother to purchase if it doesn't have an O-Ring seal. It will leak/drip fertilizer all over the place and make a hell of a mess.

Chapin Fertilizer Feeder Hose End Sprayer
Not sure why anyone rated this unit below Five Stars, but it did everything I wanted it to do. I was spraying a Liquid, not a Solid. The On/Off valve worked perfectly, and the Three Spray Selections were useful, and easy to change from one to the other. I experienced No Leaks, that some Reviewers noted. It may be useless in a House Fire, but for Spraying the Front Yard ==> It works as Advertised.

I found the plastic construction to be ok but the plastic on off valve is loose on all 3 units I bought.I cannot see how the distribution of material is even just based on how it works. It siphons product from the jar and replaces it with water...thereby diluting what’s in the jar as you go?
