The TDBU shade allows simultaneous raising and lowering from the top and bottom of the shade. Each honeycomb cell is lined with light blocking layers, to give you maximum privacy and insulation. Do you want to create privacy but still enjoy some light during the day? Try opening the shade just a bit from the top. Want even more light? Shades color was true to description and overall looks good. However after hanging them up on closer inspection, the workmanship is a bit lacking. The material on one of the shade at the top was wrinkled and not set in place properly. The header piece on all 3 does not sit flat so when the top is down, the header rail is exposed and it looks a bit tacky...

Winter white is a brown color.
I ordered my shades online and although I ordered Winter White, they don’t look white at all. They are more like a tan or brown. I thought they sent the wrong one but the label says it’s winter white.

Up-Down construction is weak and top sags
We brought the up-down Chicology blackout cordless cellular shades for our 70-inch and 52-inch wide windows. They were shipped to the house, correct width and easy to installed. The blackout feature worked well. Unfortunately, the cellular top and bottom beams are all plastic; which started to sag in the middle after a week or so. Now, the top of the cellular shade has a 1/8" gap (with the window top mount beam) at the center that lets in sunlight. We then looked at a more expensive brand (Bali) and noticed magnets at the top to keep the shade top flush (close tightly) with the top mount beam when the shades are closed and all the way up. These shades did not have magnets.
Bottomline: Do not buy Chicology up-down shades if you have windows wider than 40-inches. The plastic frame top beam is weak and will sag. For wider windows, just their down-only shades would be fine.
