Attractive, but important to see the color in person. Assembly could be easier.
COLOR: “Bleached Walnut” is difficult to describe. There’s nothing wrong with it, but it has more of a yellow tint than we expected. For comparison we included a picture holding one of the shelves next to a traditional oak door. The finish is generally good…once we cleaned it. It was really dusty and dirty. We vacuumed the pieces as we took them out of the box and then wiped with a damp cloth to remove the remaining grime.
ASSEMBLY: The instructions are good, but the panels didn’t line up perfectly with the pre-drilled screw holes. This isn’t a problem if you loosely attach the hex screws initially, and only tighten them with the supplied Allen wrench once they’re all in place. It goes much faster and is easier on the fingers if you use a drill/driver with a 5/32” hex-drive bit (just don’t over-tighten).
STRUCTURE: It’s quite sturdy once assembled. It feels like it should hold a fair amount of weight. Closetmaid advises anchoring it to the wall for safety.
FUNCTION: The cubes are 13.5” square inside, which is bigger than some competitors, and will hold larger books, decoratives, or LP records (yes, we still have records ;) This 9 Cube unit is wide enough and tall enough to be useful, but more compact than the 8-cube version (which is 2 cubes by 4 cubes). It works especially well in a room with low ceilings and could work as a two sided room divider, too.
Recommended, but try to see the color in person to make sure you like it and it fits your decor. And have a friend available to help if you’re not a strong and skilled DIY’er.

ClosetMaid Large 9 Cube Case most enjoyable
ClosetMaid makes this interesting 9 cube organizer that when assembled, makes a nice unit. The case is veneered particle board. Construction is very straight forward. Simple tools to assemble. I utilize a name brand wood glue with all the wooden dowels that are included. This gives more support. The key to assembling this unit is patience. It's important to have a flat area to work with. The end pieces are guided by wooden dowels and long bolts. The bolt heads are counter sunk. The bolts take an Allen Wrench which is included in the parts bag. To top it off, they have stickers of the wood grain that hide the bolt heads.
Overall I'm happy with the unit. Once assembled, it is sturdy. There are brackets included to anchor this unit to the wall. One person can assemble this unit. Once it is built, it has some heft, so getting help may be needed for you.
I really like it. I recommend it. Just make sure it is exactly what you want. Works great for the closet, or outside.

A 9 Cubicle Unit for Storage or Display from a Known US Company.
This review is for the Closet Maid 9 Cube storage organizer. The color is bright white.
The Item # is 4588. This is another fine product from the well-known US company,
Closet Maid, who started business in 1969 and has been a household name in the
US ever since. I’ve owned their cube organizers in the past and they have provided
years of service without fail.
This specific unit measures about 44 inches high, about 44 inches wide and 13 ½
inches deep. Besides being used as a display unit, the standard 13 inch storage
bins fit right into the cubes for out of sight storage. It has a solid weight to it to
make it stable. It is a well manufactured item and all the pieces fit together as they
should with the provided quality hardware. A hand tool is provided but I suggest
using the correct bit into a variable speed drill, it makes putting it together so much
faster. Instructions are well written and diagrams provided that make putting this
unit together fast and easy as it requires minimal assembly. We placed this
unit into our living room where it is used to display pieces from our collections.
A quality product from a known US company that would make a fine addition
to any room in the home with a multitude of uses, a highly recommended cubical
storage from a great company.

Easy, affordable, great storage solution
We had one of these storage cubes in our laundry room and I liked it so much I wanted another one for the basement for kids toy storage. There is a lot to like about these units. They are affordable, assembly is quick and I love the collapsible fabric storage boxes you can buy that make the unit look even neater. The one thing I would say is read the instructions for weight limits on the shelves. On my last one we put some enameled cast iron pots on the middles shelves and the mdf cracked where the dowels attach. One other small issue was getting the hardware cover stickers off the backing was very challenging and I ripped one or two of them. Not a big deal for where we are putting it and I’m sure you can buy more easily if necessary but something to be aware of.Overall I really like this storage unit and see myself buying more of them in the future

Easy to assemble
This is just the right size organizer that we were looking for. The 3 over 3 design was the right size, and it came in the color we were looking for. Easy to follow instructions so assembly was very easy. With the holes being pre-drilled made it easy to install the locating dolls and then attached with the screws. Seems well made and thought out. The cat loved jumping into the cubes before we added some knickknacks. We’re leaving the bottoms ones open for now to see what see does.

Get your stuff organized!
This organizer is just what we needed to get an unruly closet under control. The construction is solid even without using glue, and everything you need (except for a hammer, screwdriver, and a drill ar provided.
The instructions are of the "Swedish furniture store" variety. Pictures and numbers, but not much in the way of written instructions. Still, it was easy enough to follow. Even though the instructions don't call for a hammer, I used a tack hammer to ensure the wooden dowels were fully seated. A few gentle taps were all that was needed.
The cubicles are large enough to accommodate medium-sized plastic bins to hold your stuff neatly.

ClosetMaid Large 9-Cube Organizer
I recently added a metal garage and in sorting all my tools and man-cave stuff, I recently purchased the ClosetMaid Large 9-Cube Organizer. The organizer is well crafted and rather easy to assemble. The bleached walnut wood is in the "farmhouse style" of color and brightens up the space in comparison to darker wood products.
This unit will hold a lot of items as I sort my tools and smaller garage items so I can find them easy and it will use regular sized cube inserts. This organizer would also work well in the home for a crafting room or kid's room for toys.

Great unit with lots of storage for my wife the crafter
My wife is a crafter. A really big crafter and needs a lot of storage for a lot of tools, supplies and finished greeting cards she sells. I was thinking of build set of shelves for her but these were all ready manufactured and ready to assemble. They are around the price you would need to spend for all the wood and finishing items. This unit came shipped to the house and there are very small imperfections due to the shipping but it was so insignificant I did not bother to notify Home Depot who would have no doubt sent another. Picking this up at the store is probably your best bet.
Unpacking, Assembly and Installation was an absolute breeze. It was just about 15 minutes with all the images I took. The dowels fit into their holes without needing to tap them with a hammer. But, they were not loose at all. The parts were aligned with extreme ease. The holes for the 8 Long screws were perfectly aligned. These screws, that are on the top and bottom of the shelving, are covered with round stickers in the same color and pattern of the laminate. There are two brackets to screw the unit to the wall. The instructions have these hidden inside the top. I put them on the top of the top as this is in the basement and easier for me.
In the end my wife has a great deal of storage in a solid good looking unit.

Great shelving
This set of shelves are excellent and very sturdily made. The quality is excellent and it is very well made. The color of the unit is very current and modern looking. You can use it with or without baskets in every cubbie of which there are nine. I was very impressed with the quality of the unit and the ease at which it was assembled. I would highly recommend this product.

Easy to install, stylish and sturdy
The large 9 cube organizer is such a breeze to install and yet is so sturdy. It comes with dowels, screws, and a wall mounting kit. I placed it in the dining room next to tall cabinets and the black matched nicely with my existing furniture. I might pick up bins to use with it, but so far it can store a variety of kitchen and dining room items. I used the wall mounting kit to make it more stable, since toddlers are playing around, but even on its own it is very heavy and seems stable. It took me 20 minutes to complete the install. The wall mounting L bracket was very easy to install as well and works like a charm when installed on a stud. I like the depth in this box organizer (13.5 inches) more than regular book shelves (typically 11 inches). It is much easier to store odd sized items. Overall, stylish and sturdy organizer that you can use in various rooms and purposes.
