A:  Good Morning, The best way to remove the old bracket and hardware is with a flathead screwdriver. You will need to remove it carefully and then patch the holes. Do not re use the same holes when rehanging the shelf. Thank you for your inquiry.

A:  Just use a 3/8" drill bit and drill it out. Re-mount about an inch higher or lower using new hardware. It is a lot better if you mount the securing brackets right on the stud, thereby avoiding the use of plastic plug. Use a stud-finder to locate the stud.

A:  Probably if you brave every 18-24". The bracket is about 3/16" thick so that is automatically lost on your measurements of the shelf. So you cut the shelf about 1/2" short minimum which gives a very tight fit. If you wall to wall distance is 72" then your shelf should be about 70.5".

A:  Good Afternoon, If you are referring to the length of the shelf being 24 inches the brackets will hold the shelf in a 24 in opening. The shelf must go from wall to wall. Thank you for your inquiry.

A:  Yes it will work, but not a great idea. The gap needs to be even on each side. A better approach might be to use a shim on both sides to secure the pole and the supports in place

A:  You would have the wall bracket securely on one wall but would need to use an angle bracket on the other end, therefore leaving a small gap between the end of the shelf and the wall.

A:  I used a pair of these brackets on the ends of a shelf with the clips on the back wall in a closet. I'm not familiar with all of the parts and their compatibility. I'd suggest you check your local store, mine has a 1 page brochure that lists what works with what. Or you can check the closetmaid web pages, it lists all the parts and has a design tool that you can use that will list out all all the parts.

A:  question is not clear, these wall ends are used from one wall and the opposite wall (level) and when after measuring between the brackets, subtract 1/2", cut the rack, it will fit right
