This project panel is an affordable alternative to formaldehyde-laden plywood and features a soy-based PureBond technology that won't subject interior environs to toxic fumes over time. The decorative veneer on the face of the 1/2 in. x 4 ft. x 4 ft. panel is plain-sliced from a walnut tree sustainably grown in the U.S., displaying authentic wood grains that make workpieces come to life. The 5-ply sheet is constructed with 100% wood, featuring a yellow poplar substrate that's assembled with alternating cross bands for utmost strength, rigidity and flatness. Water-resistance allows it to tolerate moisture better than UF-constructed plywood and the multilayered assembly makes it less likely to warp than solid wood. For a darker finish, simply coat the hardwood veneer with a stain (sold separately) that matches your preconceived vision.

High Quality
This plywood looks great, and is completely flawless on the A side. The B side doesn't look bad at all either. It shipped in a sturdy box, with several protective sheets of cardboard surrounding the plywood.
The veneer is a little thin (<1/32"), so you'll have to make sure not to sand too much except for a light finishing pass. The veneer doesn't really need much finishing anyway, and I jumped right to 220 grit for it.
The veneers sandwich three thicker plies on the interior. I didn't find any voids at all either. There's a very very slight warp in my sheet, but nothing that framing it with some solid walnut won't fix easily. This is going to make for one awesome looking piece of furniture when I have everything together!

Good except...
The board was packaged very poorly. It arrived with water damage on one edge. Other than that the veneer looks very nice, if a bit thin.

I expected it to be in worse condition being shipped, but it was in pretty good shape aside from one corner. Overall, very happy with the product.

horrible veneer. I bought 5 sheets to get an idea of the quality. Glad I didn't buy enough for my project. Veneer quality was so bad that it's comparable to those I've seen on pallets. It's no wonder this product isn't stocked in stores because no one would purchase it if they saw it first hand.

This plywood is thin, but has enough layers to be pretty stable. I cut the 2' squares into a lot of smaller pieces and was surprised to not find any voids in the plies. I think I lucked out a lot, several of the pieces I received had nice flame/fiddleback figuring on at least one side. Perfect for the table tops and drawer fronts for my end table project. I like to add on some 1/4" thin strips of walnut as edge banding for a much cheaper alternative to solid walnut furniture that looks just as good!
