Command Outdoor Rope Light Clips give you the freedom to hang your rope lights in new places outdoors. They hold rope lights or extension cords up to 3/8 in. Dia. String your lights around a door, under the deck railing, up the siding, around a window or along the gutter all without nails or screws. Using a special outdoor formulation of the revolutionary Command Adhesive, these Outdoor Hooks are made to work outside and can handle temperature extremes from -20°F to 125°F and like all Command Products, they remove cleanly, without holes, marks, stains or sticky residue.

AnswerOur outdoor rope light clips are ideal for metal surfaces and can sustain -0 and +100 temps when placed on the surface when it is 50 F or warmer. We are unsure if they will be able to conform to your cylinder shaped pillars as it will depend on how extreme the curving is but these do offer more forgiveness than our clear strips due to them being much thinner. The little led breaks clips.
Looking for a better option to retain rope lights for closet. I think heat breaks clips. Every single one broke in closet. I do not recommend. I hate doing things twice when a better product would save me time money and headache. Stay away.

What happened?!
Have you changed this product? I bought this product to replace some that had broken due to students messing with them and all of the new clips that I installed have come down and are not holding up the lights.

I have a set of 24 outdoor LED lights that light up our back covered patio quite nicely. Since my wife won't allow me to drill into the roofing material, they are mounted to the eaves on my aluminum roof with these light clips. They are the only thing that has worked for me. They look a little weird at first, until you realize that they snap closed, securing the wire in place. For a while I was mounting them with the opening on top. Then I realized I could mount with the opening at the bottom, making it easier to snap the wire in and out.

The lights are bright and the materials all seem very durable and have withstood the weather well. If you are looking for a warm cozy light then these are not for you. I found the extensive cord length from the solar panel piece to the actual start of the rope lighting very annoying for my particular application (lining the edging around a paver patio). I could not find another durable alternative though. These will be on whenever it is dark, you cannot turn them off. These are much more expensive than other rope lighting but the quality is strong and there is a warranty. Overall I am pleased with my purchase.
