      Q:How do you install?

      Answer This Question

A:  Hello Ray, You should be able to find the official installation guide on The Home Depot product page, under "Product Overview" and "Info & Guides". Please see directions below: 1. Hold Low Voltage Mounting Bracket backwards flush to the wall in your desired location of installation. Trace around the inside the opening of the bracket with a pencil. 2. Cut along the traced line with a drywall saw or utility knife. 3. Insert Low Voltage Mounting Bracket into opening. Bending one tab at a time, fold each of the two (2) tabs backwards until they are flush against the inside of the wall. This will hold the Low Voltage Mounting Bracket in place. 4. Install any standard low voltage single gang (1-gang) wall plate to the bracket.

A:  1. cut 3 1/2 x 2 1/4 hole in sheetrock. 2. place bracket in the hole 3. bend the two long tabs over (~180 degrees) snug against the back side of the sheetrock. I use big channel lock pliers to squeeze the tabs firmly against the sheetrock. 4. install cover plate -if the threaded holes in the bracket aren't messed up and they probably will be!

            Solid, easy and affordable.
A very trusty product, installation was a breeze. I installed this to add a brush plate for running cable from the attic, down through an interior wall. The only issue I ran into was I cut my hole a bit too large so I didn’t have much to screw into when installing the bracket. Overall, it was very easy to do and would probably take anybody 10 minutes to do. Instructions were fairly clear.

This one getting low voltage mounting bracket functioned almost perfectly for what I was looking for. I used to use these quite often when working in the low voltage communications industries. The key thing to remember when using these is to have something thin enough to trace the outer edge of the game plate rather than the easier inside edge. If you do this it should fit perfectly and the two thumbs bend inward to brace it just fine. These game plates give you something to attach a standard wall plate to.

The tabs that you bend back over the drywall to hold the bracket in place don't seem to hold very well. Not sure if this is user error but it is loosy goosy for me.

Kinda garbage, not even screw holes to secure the bending tabs once installed… will always be a little floppy
