    A:  No, it does take batteries, however the batteries are only for back up use.

      A:  No. The Exit sign is powered by AC power while also charging the 90 Minute emergency battery backup. The fixture would need to be recharged every 90 minutes if it was not connected to an ac power source

          A:  The White CE Exit sign needs to be connected to 120v AC power. In the event of a power outage the battery will operate the exit sign for 90 minutes to allow folks to identify the building exit.
