A:  Hi GoGators, yes it can.

A:  I'm a little old-school and used to be an electrician, and in my experience no photocell should be mounted where it can be exposed to direct sunlight. In the U.S., facing it to the north is best. Or else rig up a shield to protect it from direct sunlight.

A:  Yes. It's not sensitive like a camera lens.

A:  Black connects to incoming line (120V usually black). White connects to incoming neutral (usually white). Controlled lamp(s) connect to white (neutral) and red (switched 120V output). Any required ground(s) bypass the sensor.

              A:  There are no instructions

                  Does not last long
As several people have mentioned this photocell is not reliable. I installed this unit less than a year ago and now the light stays on during the day. When I first installed it I covered the lens to test and no light. I messed around and double checked the wires and gave up for the day intending to return it but it came on at dusk as intended. I should have gotten the hint earlier that it was quirky. None of the other brands available seem any better regarding longevity unfortunately.

Easy installation and performs as expected. Been using in a pole light for a month with no issues.

The Commercial Electric Photo Sensor appears to be well made and functioned properly upon installation. I am going with 4 stars as I recently installed the Sensor and cannot attest to longevity
