Hello. Thank you for your question. MDF is medium density fiberboard. It is an excellent product and rivals plywood in many ways. We do not recommend using MDF as an underlayment. You would be better served using an underlayment grade plywood product.
Hello. Thank you for your question. Please contact your local Home Depot for cutting capabilities.
Hello. Thank you for your question. Yes it is. Choosing an oil-based paint will produce better results. Acrylic and latex paints are also suitable for MDF projects. You might find that these paints are easier to use than oil-based paints. You can thin acrylic and latex paints just using water, whereas, with oil-based paint, you will need to add paint thinner.
Hello. Thank you for your question. MDF is commonly produced and used as a flooring material that is laminated or coated with a protective layer (often for flooring manufacturers it is produced to a higher density than our standard MDF). Also, MDF is not produced as a moisture resistant panel.
Yes you can
Yes why not. As long as it doesn't get wet
No if you wet it it swells up
Only if it doesn't get wet
It will probably crumble after a while
