What does MDF stand for.....can it be used as an unlayment floor..

Answer

Hello. Thank you for your question. MDF is medium density fiberboard. It is an excellent product and rivals plywood in many ways. We do not recommend using MDF as an underlayment. You would be better served using an underlayment grade plywood product.

Is this paintable?

Answers

Hello. Thank you for your question. Yes it is. Choosing an oil-based paint will produce better results. Acrylic and latex paints are also suitable for MDF projects. You might find that these paints are easier to use than oil-based paints. You can thin acrylic and latex paints just using water, whereas, with oil-based paint, you will need to add paint thinner.

Can tou use this plywood for flooring?

Answer

Hello. Thank you for your question. MDF is commonly produced and used as a flooring material that is laminated or coated with a protective layer (often for flooring manufacturers it is produced to a higher density than our standard MDF). Also, MDF is not produced as a moisture resistant panel.

Great product and price. The best customer service I have ever experienced. I use the MDF board to make yard art to sell. I am a disabled senior and always have the 4' × 8' board cut up into smaller pieces that I can handle easier.

Hello. Thank you for your review. Because MDF is denser than most materials, we recommend to drill a pilot hole first. You also can join this product with spiral grooved dowels, coated staples, and ring shank nails. Roseburg

MDF product met my expectations for good quality. Home Depot also cut the 4x8 sheets to my specifications which made the job, including transporting, a lot easier.
