Yes. It seems like it is made out of fiberglass. A really good look that is very durable.

Can you apply to a concrete step that has a rounded bull nose at the front? Another way of asking - is the cover at the front edge flexible so you can mold it or is hard hard?
Asked by: JJ
I believe there shouldn't be a problem especially if the radius is no more than a half inch. I live in the NE and this pass December (3-weeks ago), I installed them on an outside basement cinderblock stairs case for my tenants and they like them as I do. So I haven't had them long. But I am concern that the Liquid Nail Extreme or Gorilla glue adhesive ( which comes in a 10 ounce tube like a chalking gun. Model # LN 909), would really hold up to the weather year after year, as it advertisement claims it would. So as added precaution, I used two concrete anchors per step ( the kind that you hammer into the hole and it spreads out. Locking it into the cement. Home Depot sells them. They are called Red Head Hammer Set, 1/4 x 1" Model number 35300 ). So before I glued the threads down, I pre-drilled two holes about 1inch from the back edge of the stairs thread and about 14 inches from the both side. After that, I laid the threads down and marked the cinder block steps through the holes. I then drilled the cement. After clearing the area of cement dust, I glued the steps and laid the threads down. I aligned the two holes of the thread with the two holes in the cement with a Philip screw driver, inserted the anchors and hammered the anchors in. Good luck.

Do these work with TREX stairs? How would you attach them - screws? If so, do I need special ones for TREX material?
Asked by: Pat
I used them on concrete stairs and attached them with screws and construction adhesive. They worked well for my use. I would ask manufacturer if it can be used on Trex. Also ask Trex.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from ComposiGrip Stair Tread My husband and I had both had slips on our wooden deck and basement stairs. Too scary when you're getting older, didn't want to break an ankle or worse! We saw this product advertised on Home Depot and thought we'd give it a shot. Test run on our one set of deck stairs. ComposiGrip is truly amazing! Even with freezing rain that we've experienced this winter, we could easily break away the ice using the back of a push broom and even our boot heals. The traction is great. And yes, you guessed it, we now have every deck stair covered AND our basement stairs too. Thank you for introducing this wonderful product and helping to keep us safer in our home.

I am going to return it though because my project is to build hot tub steps and this pattern is very uncomfortable on bare feet. Very slip-proof though! I just don't think it fits my project. To the person who buys this after I return it, I am sorry for testing it with my feet and then putting it back in the box. ;-0

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Works well Bought 3 of these 2 months ago to cover my 2 wooden garage steps plus the edge of the landing. The treads were easy to cut with my table saw using a fine cross cut blade (10 inch 60 tooth). Made some small cuts with a jigsaw (fine blade) with no problems. Trimmed them to make sure there was no overhang past the back of the steps to avoid any snapping or snagging of such overhang. Set with construction adhesive as per the instructions which worked very well. My wife complained that the tread was somewhat "pokey" on her bare feet - told her it's a GARAGE, put on some slippers! Would have given 5 stars but 2 of the steps arrived with damaged corners due to shipping (box is labelled FRAGILE). Luckily I was able to trim the damaged corners for my application. I may buy some more for my outdoor concrete steps which are starting to wear.

Used to protect the steps on our wood deck from the wear and tear of our dogs claws going up and down all day. Affixed by using six 1" lathe pan head screws for each step, placing three on the back and three on the overhanging lip. The steps have a some slight ridge lines molded into the bottom, presumably so water can flow through. It remains to be seen what the long term effects of any residual water retention may have on the wood steps, though I stained the stairs before installing the covers. Only negative is that almost all of the edges of the stairs were damaged in shipping. Instead of returning the units only to have successive shipments also damaged, I ended up trimming up the edges with a mitre saw instead. Seemed to work fine, though the steps should have been better packaged in the first place.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Not impressed excellent look but very less than satisfied with material type. Material is brittle and unforgiving. As a contractor, I can NOT use this in a commercial re-fit application NOR recommend it to anyone where it is subject to impact. IF you have a low use, no impact, non critical application - it's an economical choice with a nice very high traction design. I did return product .
