72 in. Cherry Wood 15-shelf Standard Bookcase with Adjustable Shelves

This product is great. This is our second 72"x72" bookcase by Concepts in Wood. Our other has a cherry finish. If you are like me, you have a lot of books. With having a lot of books comes the need to have quality bookcases that can hold those books without sagging. This product does just that. Other products need modifications to prevent their thin shelves from sagging in the long run. This product needs no such modification. Another aspect of this product I loved was the cost point. This is very affordable and when you take into account that this is product is designed to last for the long term; this is an investment well worth a few extra dollars over cheap competitors. Now, I don't want this to sound too good to be true so here's the one issue I had. It is time consuming to put together. Now keep in mind. If you take your time, read the directions carefully; you will be fine. If you are someone who likes to just jump in and go...you are probably going to end up frustrated. Just pay attention to what you are doing. Double check the instructions to make sure you are following each step correctly and in a couple hours you will be loading up your new bookcase! Also, one last thing. In addition to the 72" high bookcase, they offer an 84" high bookcase. I stuck with the smaller height on both of my bookcases. If you are considering the higher bookcase but just aren't sure; take a look at my pictures. You can still put books and other things on the very top of the 72" bookcase. So if you are on the fence you may want to go with the 72" as you will still have that "extra" shelf on the top, it just won't be boxed in.

Moldings are solid oak and the rest is particle board with oak veneer as I expected (due to its price) even though the description does not clearly detail out. The reason I give 3 stars because the right dead-locked shelf (2nd from the bottom) is shorter (my bad luck) than the distance between panels (see pictures) even though it is the same length as the middle and the left dead-locked shelves. The bookcase is very heavy for me so I could not bring it back to local Home Depot store for refund. Another issue is the supplied hardware for wall anchor does not look strong to keep the bookcase from falling if there is a significant earthquake so I did not install it. However, the bookcase looks very sturdy and elegant.

Irt looks really good like the picture. It was not to difficult to assmble as well!

Overall, I would recommend this product. It gives you a nice looking piece of furniture that is functional without having to invest too much money (or time building one yourself). As mentioned in their instructions - you really do need two people to assemble. It came in two large boxes, which weren't light, but my wife and I were able to manage. Pros: - More attractive than the standard "ready to assemble" bookcase. - Holds lots of books - Adjustable shelves - Solid construction * (apart from items mentioned in Cons) Cons: - The backing comes folded and taped together at the seams. This was not done too well and we needed to adjust. It was the one part of the bookcase we didn't like. Seems like it would be better to not have the seams taped. Fortunately the books hide this aspect of the bookcase. - The shelves have a piece of trim to hide the cut edge of the shelf material. For looks they are nearly twice the width of the shelf, which makes it difficult to get books in/out if you are attempting to conserve shelf height. - We had to shim the top front facing piece of trim when attaching as the cleats were not square.

None of the parts were labled. I had match parts with the pitcures on the instructions.

Very nice quality bookshelf.

This is a nice bookshelf. The only issue that I had was with the back of the unit. I had to trim 3/8" all the way down the back in order to make it fit. It is a very sturdy unit that went together well, aside from that.

Had to wait 2 months for delivery due to pandemic but well worth the wait! Bookcase was easy to assemble and is excellent quality. Will buy another when needed!

Looks great. Was just what I needed to help organize my man cave.

This product far exceeded my expectations. I am well pleased with this purchase.
