Questions & Answers

can i rent this piece of equipment?

Asked by: latinzane
Yes you can rent this tool at some home depot locations. Call you local store TRC to see if they carry this tool. I have rented it before and asked my local store to get one and they did.

What protective clothing and respirators do you recommend for fogging?

Asked by: Action
http://www.concrobium.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/05/Concrobium-Mold-Control-MSDS-US-2013.pdf specifies that personal protection control including respirator is not required. that being said that is just for the fogger. the mold itself is another issue.

Would this work in a library for books?
Asked by: Net
You probably won't want to do this because if it works, the books would be covered by a thin layer of white deposit. This white deposit is what's keeping the mold away.

Customer Reviews

128 oz. Mold Control Fogger is rated 4.2 out of 5 by 27.
Rated 4 out of 5 by from Works well, but beware on fabrics I used a fogger with Concrobium for the inside of our cottage after the mould problem on the underside of the floor system was remedied (used Concrobium sprayed on there as well). In order to eliminate mould odours and ensure no contamination on the interior, I fogged upstairs and down, especially at the kitchen end of the main floor where most of the odour could be smelled due to plumbing penetrations letting in the smell from the crawl space. I wasn't sure, from what I read online about covering fabrics as the smell is obviously in them and wanted to eliminate it there too. Online info seemed to indicate it would be fine as long as the area is not over-fogged. The living area was moderately fogged - no obvious residue - but we found the couch and rug ended up with a tackiness on the surface which was hard to clean off. I over-fogged the kitchen area unfortunately, in my attempt to clean out the biggest source of the musty smell. Being all hard surfaces it was easier to clean off, but when Concrobium dries, it does leave a tacky-feeling residue that leaves oily-looking streaks when you wipe it. It requires a cleaner to remove and is best wiped AND dried immediately. This was for laminate floors and p-lam countertops. I'm not sure how effective the fog would be if fogged lightly enough to not leave a bit of residue. I'm happy with the results, and do recommend the product, but would have appreciated knowing the effect on fabrics ahead of time.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Strongly recommended ! I have used Concrobium Mold Control to treat several areas in the last several years and since I need it occasionally and don't want to deal with renting a fogger each time, bought my own used cold fogger (2 actually, so I can share with others!)--the only economical way to treat large volumes. The product was a lifesaver in treating a nasty crawl space before and after encapsulating it and was also used in rehab of a water-damaged condo. Even if no serious mold is evident, makes sense to treat surfaces before rebuilding and sealing up again. We also use it for less serious jobs like just freshening up basement areas without any specific leaking problems but just the from way we built basements 50 years ago without much moisture control.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Mold no more! We went to sell our house and had buyer a back out of the sale because we found out our attic is FULL of mold. We got a quote from a remediation company for a whopping $6,700 just to remove it, not even to fix the problem. We did a little research and came across the Concrobium mold fogger that you can rent at Home Depot for only $18 for 4 hours (with a $50 deposit). With cleaning fees, etc it came out to a whole $26. This thing is AMAZING! It only took 30 minutes to cover our entire attic and one gallon worked just fine for our 912 sq foot space. We let it sit for a week (instructions say only 24 hrs but because of how bad ours was we really wanted to make sure it was dead). Went back up a week later and voila! 90% of the mold had disappeared on its own. My husband wiped off the rest of the mold and it was a miracle!! Aside from a few remaining stains on the OSB board, our attic looks good as new. This machine saved us THOUSANDS of dollars and headache! I'm so thankful I stumbled across it!

I rented the concrobium mold control fogger from homedepot to fog my crawlspace. It didn't work well. When I returned to the fogger after 20 minutes, several feet of vapor barrier in front of the fogger were wet with puddles. A little bit of the wood beams (which is what I'm targeting) about 8 feet in front of the fogger were soaking wet. But nothing else further away was covered. I even put a fan 8 feet in front to help spread the fog, but the fan was wet, nothing else in front was. The dust/fog filter in the back fell off several times during use due to poorly shaped air intake. It's as if the filter was an after thought. You may want to tape down the filter so you won't lose it during use. In the end, I wielded the fogger to directly spray the mist onto the wood beams, against the advice in the user manual. Next time I would just buy a garden sprayer instead of renting this machine. I did not tried it in a room with normal height ceiling, which is apparently what this is designed for. I suggest you err on the safe side and line the floor with something waterproof in case it gets wet. It's also possible the unit I rented was worn out.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Concrobium Mold Control & Fogger I recertly bought a house and the basement was so bad with mold it could be smelled through the entire 2 story house. We were quite nervous since we are very sensitive to mold... and this was BAD! I purchased this system on line and had it delivered to my local store. Delivery was fast. My first step was to remove all the rotten wood. (Wear a respirator ) I then preashure washed the walls and floor... After drying it out with a dehumidifier, I fogged with 3 gallons. I also fogged the first and second floors with 1 gallon each.... The reviews are acurate! This system is easy set up and use... And best of all, It works! The odor and mold is gone, even to the most sensitive nose! Plan on fogging my boat in the spring. I've included a few photos, just an example of how bad it really was.... I highly recommend this product.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Concrobium Mold Control Fogger Loved this fogger! It isn't cheap, but it is effective. Musty odors are gone! Didn't have to hire remediation company who use similar equipment. I read feedback here & many other online reviews. Looked at cheaper/off brand models. Decided to spend the money for the Concrobium brand & used about 3 gallons for a downstairs basement area that's been hit by water damage/back up over the years. Gutted everything-all woods especially. Don't leave the area for too long as the fogger uses about a 1/2 gallon in 15 minutes on Low to Med and you may come back to find it working dry-don't do this (like I did the first 1/2 gallon). Whole gallon can be depleted w/in a 1/2 hour. Definitely fogs exceptionally and permeates crevices and small areas. Some areas did receive a light coat of dampness-dried up to a light white dusting and was easy to clean and did not damage items which got over-coated. I read somewhere a complaint that the gallon solutions are just sodium bicarb and is quite cheap but I used the Concrobium gallons because I did not want to clog up a $329 fogger and plan to reuse this periodically if needed. Well worth the money! This basement was awful before using this brand, now there are no mold or musty odors and we can actually smell the new wood on the newly framed walls! Very nice Concrobium! Thank you Home Depot for having the solutions in stock and for having this machine quickly shipped!
