Was cutting a palm tree branch this morning when the aluminum piece snapped and the blade fell to the ground from 10 feet. I'm glad no one was helping/underneath it because it would be fallen on them. I'll go for an alternative brand as this should not be a point where the tool breaks.

          Better options
The saw blade is OK. The extension is difficult to secure. The rope that activates the cutter frays and is unusable after minimal use. As soon as you say “rope” to the customer service rep she she has the response “go to the hardware store”. Apparently a very common failure. They do answer the phone promptly.

            Saw is flimsy
The first time I used the by pass blade the tip broke off while cutting a small branch. The curve to the bypass pruner blade is incredible small so anything over an inch is difficult! When I tried using the saw to cut a larger branch it was so flimsy it constantly got pinched and had an awful time trying to release it. The saw is super thin and too long and without enough curve to it. Returning for a refund.

              very good product
we , my wife and i do a lot of yard work. we have been in the same house 30 years. and we work the yard, and its a labor of love. this corona product we have had for some 10 years or so... and used it to trim mostly the renegade thick vine growth and tree growth between our neighbor and our yard. my wife, being , my wife, snapped, broke the attachment piece of the 12' TP 6830 tree pruner the other day. But we have gotten our money out of it. never replaced the blade, but cut many a limb, now we search to replace it, with a TP6870 14'. the only thing i didn't like was over time, the extension grip was hard to open, and close, ..... but so is my medication bottle......) no really that could be better. !
