The HS 4344 DualLINK + Extendable Hedge Shear r provides maximum cutting performance with the PowerSOURCE 4-bar linkage cutting system. The integrated ShockGUARD bumper makes your gardening experience more enjoyable by reducing shoulder and arm fatigue. The patented handle locking mechanism allows you extend the tool up to 8 in. for added reach. The 9-3/4 in. top blade has a non-stick coating for smoother trimming of plants and bushes and serrations designed to hold material in place while cutting. The top blade also features a limb notch for cutting branches up to 5/8 in. thick. The DualLINK+ grips and steel handles provide better control and comfort when trimming.

A: No the grips are not replaceable because they are melted on the handles. As long as you properly maintain the tool, they grips last a very long time.

Good shears

I bought these about 3 years ago and used them quite a few times to trim my boxwoods and they did just fine. They met my expectations and I didn't have any problems with them. They have comfortable handles that are easy to squeeze. I ended up buying a cordless hedge trimmer which has replaced these in my tool cache due to the larger projects that I took on.

Spring has sprung and time to trim the overgrown shrubs and now is a great time to update your hedge shears. I’ve been using these comfort gel shears and so far they work really well,are comfy in my hands and not too long as to cause fatigue in my arms. The blades are nice and sharp and glide over the plant parts that need to be cut. I even appreciate the little shock guards near the blades to lessen the impact of the constant cutting of the blades.The shear itself is not too heavy so anyone should be able to use them. There is also a notch at the end of the blade that works to cut 1/2” branches or less if you don’t want to stop and use another tool.A great tool in my lawn and garden arsenal.

Very comfortable gel handles make yard work a lot easier by protecting the hands and wrists from shock while shearing hedges by hand. The blades are sharp and cut thru Boxwood, Silver Dollar and Loropetalum hedges with ease. I had no problem cutting limbs up to a quarter of an inch with a quick snap. These are hedge shears, not loppers so keep in mind when determining the job you intend to use them for. I also used them to trim the grass around the sprinkler heads Nice 8 inch blades cover a good area, while not causing stress on the back and shoulder area.

Great trimmers

These are great trimmers. They cut very well especially on my Liriope. No others will do the same job. This is my second purchase of these trimmers. My first lasted about 5 years. Wish it wasn't so expensive to get repaired.

Rivet will break eventually

The rivet that creates the hinge between the two blades broke. After doing some research, it's a common issue with this model. Mine broke after 6 months of light use and HD would not issue a refund since it was beyond 90 days. You could ship them back to Corona but you have to pay the shipping and it's almost not worth it.
