- Vacuum or sweep your area rug regularly. This will avoid dirt from getting deep into your area rug’s fibers. This rug perfectly "anchors" our square patio dining table and gives a pop of color to our dark brown deck. I suggest purchasing the $18 protection coverage - my last rug lasted only one season before disintegrating.
