Disappointed
I purchased this product with the hopes that it would melt snow. It's presently +2C outside, and the snow is melting faster on the sidewalk (no salt). I didn't have the problems other people stated with it not being able to lay flat. This stayed plenty flat, just didn't warm up at all.
It seemed as though there were good reviews on this product, I am going to take it back and get a replacement to see if it works. (perhaps it's just a defective product, even though it states "ICE AWAY has been pre-tested and set to the correct temperature for use. The mat has been designed so warmth travels upward."

The mat heats up when plugged in. Seems to be working. We have not had a significant snow to test the melting yet.However, it still will not lay flat on the ground. It curls up on the ends. Is there any way to get it lay flat? We have tried turning it over but that still has not solved the problem. It has been laying in the garage for about three weeks to see if it will flatten out.Can you make any suggestions as to get it to lay flat?

I purchased three of these to make the outside entrance to my daycare safer in the winter. I returned all three because I could not get them to lay flat (they were shipped rolled up) nor could I get the black slippery substance off the walking surface.

The mat melts snow fine, but the design doesn't allow water (melted snow) to run off or seep through you're forced to step through puddles... not sure that's any better (worse?) than snow. Also, the surface is covered with silicone or some other chemical. It still hasn't evaporated off after 1 month
