Q:can you tell me if the crane 1 gallon evaporative humidifier will release actual droplets into air

A:  No you would not have water droplets being thrown from the unit into the air.

    A:  It's not a ultrasonic humidifier I haven't seen any water vapor while in use but it wicks half the container a day on the lowest setting.

    A:  You can use tap water. This is an evaporation cooler with wicks not an ultrasonic that creates white dust if using tap water. Just be sure to use a bacteria additive every other tank to slow degradation of the wicks.

                  Great For Stringed Instruments
                  I hang a few stringed instruments (guitars, violin, cittern etc) around the house in various rooms when not in their cases. Since the humidity varies from room to room, I can adjust the settings accordingly. I currently have three of these and plan to replace my old, loud "whole-house" humidifier with two or three more. They're very quiet and refills are quick.

                    This is a nice unit. It's quiet and doesn't take up much space. There is one glitch, however, that kept me from giving it a better rating. It won't start up and run on the low or medium settings. You have to set it on high and let it run for several minutes before your can turn it down and it will actually run on the lower settings. Other than that, it does a good job.
