This depends on the thickness of the shelf you're using and the way you mount them. If you mount to studs you will need less brackets overall but we recommend 24 inches between brackets.
All tho ones that Home Depot sells from this company have a "lip" on the edge. MAYBE they make a variety WITHOUT the lip. You should check on their website and/or Home Depot. They should be able to help you. Jarhead
1.5 inches
Dunno. If it's powder-coated it should not but to help it out against corrosion, give it a few more coats of primer and "exterior" grade paint. We have an 40+ year old window planter that needed heavy sand blasting and then powder coated in 2003. It has seen a myriad of plants since then and still shows no signs of rust. I do like those brackets though. They are heavy duty. You might have to drill the retaining holes larger for bigger screws and follow up the drilling with primer and paint if you do. Jarhead
The holes along the back of the bracket are 3.75" apart.
Yes I had a similar experience
The brackets are strong enough to hold a ladder that weight as long as they are mounted securely. We recommend mounting to studs or another solid surface with appropriate hardware.
These brackets are designed and mass produced to fit standard lumber dimensions. For custom sized you may need to talk to a metal fabrication shop or blacksmith.
Yes, it is 290 lbs per pair of brackets.
Listed pricde is for a single bracket.
