I’ve used it for a few projects and it’s so much easier than having to bring a set of screw drivers, ratchet, and wire cutters from my workshop out into the yard. I always forget something so this kit is great to fill the gaps between the more specialized tools needed for some jobs. It will live in my truck most of the time as I don’t have a toolbox in the bed of my truck. It also fits right under the seat in my crew cab!

Great mix of deep and regular sockets Has everything plenty of sizes to keep as a vehicle road maintenance kit. I just recently used to change my own oil and service my snowblower worked well. Solid pieces and connections. The case is a bit finicky with popping the sockets back in their place and with the 4 clips to close you’ll have to fumble between moving them out of the way for the seating the doors closed. The pliers seemed stiff at first but worked very well and felt quality like an individually purchased item. Overall the case is solid when closed you don’t have to worry about dropping it and all of the pieces blowing out everywhere and quality plastic.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have used crescent tools in this format case for over a decade on my fire trucks. So keep that in mind during this review. I love crescent tools, and jumped at the chance of getting this one. So to start with the bad. The case plastic feels thin inside. I had multiple tools that were loose from shipping and when i replaced them the llastic folded like it was thin. I am not a fan of rounded screwdriver grips. Sure they have rubber on them but that will likely fail eventually. Time will tell. Thats the bad. The good? The case has a superior locking tab system than previous generations. The old ones were just plastic that flexed and the locks broke off. These are hinged and feel secure. Even holding the loose tools inside when i first opened it. The tools? Aside from the screwdriver handles they are solid and blocky. I love the box wrenches. Not all skinny with thin edges but straigh up blocky shafts. They feel extremely durable. The ratchets are also solid with great locking rotation. I think the box said 72 teeth and 5 degree. They feel great. I was also impressed by the bit selection as i was about to spring for security torx bits but they are in this kit! Its a great set, id give most of it 5 stars but those early drawbacks make me have to ding it a bit. So maybe 4.5 if it was an option. Crescent makes great tools and im proud to add this set to my collection

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Professional quality tool set! This set has everything someone would need to get started or to expand what they have. It is in a nice blow molded case so everything has a spot and for me it lets me know if something is missing. The tools are definitely Professional quality. The ratchets operate smoothly with 72 teeth getting in tight spots is great. The wrenches and sockets are easily identified. The screwdrivers has a nice ergonomic feel so you can really apply torque. The thing i like the most is this kit is easily portable to keep in my truck for jobs on the go.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This set should tackle any project for the ATV/Truck/Boat/Home. Chromed finish for easy cleanup. Socket ratchet wrenches are smooth, strong, and comfortable. Deep-well sockets are appreciated. The case is quite durable and well designed. If you are looking for a solution in a box, this is it. It is really hard to have all tools with you when away from the shop and I find that I truly rarely need 1/2 drive. The included adjustable wrench covers those times when I need to size up some. I plan to purchase 2 more sets to be included in my boys' "send off to college" tool sets.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Initially, I wanted this tool set to keep in my truck in case of emergency, but after opening the set up, it quickly became my go-to tools for home improvement and auto repair. The quality of the ratchets, the wide range of sockets, and the heavy duty pliers have proven their value time and again. I haven’t experienced any slipping gears or stripped bolts from this set, and I highly doubt I will. Perfect for a new homeowner, an emergency kit for your vehicle, or a gift to a new graduate as they get started on their own.

I would have liked to see thicker plastic used in the case to help make it a bit more rigid. This set would make an excellent gift.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Excellent tool kit. Literally everything needed to get by on most basic automotive or small engine repairs. I work in construction full time and a weekend warrior mechanic and just needed a basic ratchet and wrench set to be able to pick up and go whenever I need it, and this fits the bill.

I was looking forward to getting this set of tools from Crescent. I own their Lineman’s, Diagonal, and K9 V-Jaw pliers that I use all the time. So, I was looking for the same brand experience when selecting their 180-piece Professional tool set. I’ll start with the items/features I liked best. Their sockets, combination wrenches, and two ratchets are well made. They have a solid feel and the Chrome plating is consistent over all the tools. The sockets are plated on the inside to help with clean up after using on oily, greasy projects. The rachets have a nice release button that holds the sockets securely. The socket walls are not to thin and should last a long time. I would be nice if the extension bars were locking extension bars like the other Apex Tool brand. This would be a great feature when working around an engine in tight spaces. With so many sockets why did crescent only include two rachets? (1/4” and 3/8” drives) This set needs a 1/2" rachet and 1/2” drive sockets for the larger diameter sockets. The Crescent 170-piece tool set has 3 rachets? The combination wrenches are great, they just need to add 3 more wrenches to this set. I would like to see a 1/4-inch, 9mm and 11mm wrenches added to this set. The set comes with Crescent 6” Diagonal Pliers, 6” Long Nose Pliers, and a 6” Adjustable Wrench. They are good tools but this is a “Professional” tool set. If you working with a bolt that is 3/4” at both ends and you can’t fit a rachet and socket over one end, you’ll need to find another combination wrench or adjustable wrench. I would replace the three tools with Crescent’s Adjustable Black Oxide Cushion Grip Wrenches in 6”, 8”, and 10” sizes? (Maybe 2 adjustable wrenches and a K9 V-jaw Pliers) The magnetic bit driver with 4 sleeves of bits is handy when you are trying to determine fastener sizes. The bit driver is magnetic but not the individual bits. This tool needs it own case! It would be nice to pick up a small case that contains the driver and bits. There are four screwdrivers included in this set. I would consider them more “General” purpose screwdrivers. The handles are made from an orange plastic that has a very smooth surface. (See Image of Bit Driver handle) There is a textured black material built into the handles, but there isn’t much of it and it isn’t as “Sticky/Grippy” as I would like. There is a hole built into the handles for using another screwdriver for increased torque, but I would have a hard time trying to get a difficult screw in or out with these handles. The two Hex Key sets are just to small. I have a ball end set that I have been using for years because the key handles are longer. I included a comparison image below. I don’t know how often most people use the Hex sets in general. But maybe there aren’t included in this set going forward? Lastly, the storage case! It is too big when opened and the sockets are hard to remove. I found myself using the slotted screwdriver to pry the sockets out of the case. The case measures 31.5” wide when opened. (See image below) If you occasionally work on a few projects around the house and don’t have a tool box or storage chest, you might keep the case. I am going to remove all the tools from this case. I have been looking for socket storage trays and small individual cases because I am going to break up the sockets by drive size. I can’t image hauling this case around. Instead of this very large molded plastic case, maybe Crescent can use one of their Tradesman Closed Top or 20” Contractor tool bag with plastic storage cases for sockets and matching ratchets. (Similar to a fishing tackle bag with removable plastic storage cases) They would have room for the extras included with the tool sets! Overall, I am recommending this tool set because the pieces that make up this set are very good tools. The only items I wouldn’t recommend are the Hex Key sets and the enormous plastic storage/carrying case.
