Questions & Answers

Where are crescent wrenches made

Asked by john June 10, 2020

This is made in China.

Where are these wrenches manufacture?

Asked by ToolHound April 25, 2020

Hey ToolHound, This set is made in China. Thanks!

Whats the warranty on these lifetime?

Asked by AL August 4, 2017

No life time

Are these standard or metric?

Asked by HughJass June 17, 2017

That's why it's called "adjustable wrench" (emphasize on "adjustable") for one simple reason: It literally adjusts to any size. So asking if it's metric or standard is irrelevant when using this tool, as long as the nut, bolt, etc. fits the maximum range of its' jaws it should work. I hope I answered your question.

Where is this made?

Asked by Tom December 9, 2016

Not in the USA

Does this open to one and a half inches

Asked by Lo November 29, 2016

Yes, actually to 1 and 5/8 inches

The wrenches worked great! And they hold their jaw size after using them. I do communication tower work so it's nice to have a rubber coated handle on them so its easier to grip.

Good wrenches with easy and smooth adjustment
I have one 40+ year old 8" name-brand crescent wrench that I love, and a few cheap generic crescent wrenches that I hate. In those situations where I need to use two wrenches at the same time, it's very frustrating to use one of the cheap ones. The number one issue I have with the cheap ones, and I guess the only issue, is that the adjustment screw doesn't work well. The adjustment screw gets stuck or binds up at certain points and I have to wiggle the wrench to get the adjustment screw to move again. These appear to be well made wrenches. The first thing I tested was how easy they were to adjust and whether the adjustment screw got stuck. I'm happy to report that the wrenches are very easy to adjust. The adjustment screw moves very smoothly, loosely, and easily, so you can easily make the adjustment one handed while holding the wrench in place. There is some play or 'slop' between the adjustment screw and the movable jaw of the wrench, but I don't have any issues with that, as it prevents the adjustment from binding up. I typically use an 8" crescent wrench for most things, so the 6" and 10" sizes round out my set. This morning I had to repair a sprinkler in my garden, and to my surprise, the small 6" wrench was able to easily open wide enough to fit the nearly 1" hex sprinkler head adapter. It worked great, and I had the sprinkler repaired in a few minutes. The thick rubber coating on the wrench handles is a nice touch, making them more comfortable to grip. The fit and finish of the wrenches seems good, certainly good enough for my DIY and home repair needs. And the measurement markings on the wrench 'jaw' are a nice touch--something that my 40 year old wrench doesn't have. Overall, these seem like good wrenches. I am going to pick up the 8" size to complete the set.

Well Priced Wrench set with minor issue
This is a well made wrench set with few exceptions. The general feel of the items is great and the coated handled is well made, especially at this price point. The bigger wrench has a weight to it and you can use it with a mallet for stubborn tasks without worrying about it bending. The teeth adjust well and you can adjust it to most sizes you may need. The one issue I had on my set was the play between the teeth was more than I am use to. I have an older Adjustable wrench that does not have the wiggle that this set has. You can move the adjustable part a lot more than I am use to an adjustable. At this price point I am sure its the tolerance of the machining.

Nice tools
The 6 and 10 in. Adjustable wrench tool set is great. They have a larger knurl (the part you spin to adjust the opening of the jaw) and a cushioned grip. They also have a laser etched scale on them if you wanted to find out the size of a bolt head etc. They seem to hold the setting as well which is a problem I have with my older ones. These will see a lot of use and will never again look as clean.

Great price, great wrenches
Needed something both bigger and smaller than the 8" adjustable wrench that I already had. This was the perfect fit at 6" and 10". Jaws open very nicely, dipped grips are easy to hold and the laser etching is both easy to read as well as useful when I do happen to know the size of the nuts and bolts. And when I don't know the exact size, they open and close easily enough to fit. Used both last night to put together a new edger - was easier to use than fumbling with a socket set
