Q:Is this the same tracklight as the Catalina brand sold elsewhere? It looks identical. And why is one guy basically rubber-stamping almost every question with how this is junk? Yes, they are a pain if a light goes bad, but you can move lights around.

Great Look, Great Light, Poor install hardware
I would recommend having a backup supply of quality drywall anchors because the ones that came with the install kit were really lousy. I broke all the supplied anchors and had to use my own. That aside, the build quality is pretty darn good. Certainly not top notch, but really good for the money. Once installed the lights look stellar. We put them over the dining table in an 'S' shape spanning 84" and installed a dimmer (make sure you get one suitable for LEDs). The install instructions have some helpful design ideas with measurements so you can map out your mounts without guess work or winging it. The lights dim very smoothly without any flitter, the light is steady and a very nice color. Feels like a very natural color, right in the sweet spot. The track arrives coiled in one direction and was a little tricky to shape but I think overall it turned out very nice. Would definitely recommend. With a six chair setup it is perfect with six light heads. Iaimed lights across the table to avoid having a shadow of your head in your dinner plate. All seats are nicely lit.

Installing the Cresswell LED flex track lighting was a fun weekend project. First, I removed the prior lighting which was a simple flush mount light, which I describe as a half globe hanging from the ceiling, then texturized and painted the ceiling. I changed the wall switch with an LED compatible dimmer. Dimmer DVCL-153PR-WH works pretty well. It has a little black slider under the cover panel that controls how dim the lights go. We have that set to the minimum. The Cresswell lights dim low but if you dim them low and turn them off then on they won't come on until you move the slider outside the cover back to at least 20%. The actual track was a little tricky to bend and align. It took a few tries. I found that if you just go one step at a time; get the main post connected, then the next set of posts, take a step back and look at how it's going, make any adjustments, end with the last posts - it eventually comes out nicely. The posts screw into the ceiling with drywall anchors which are easy to use. Then the light heads clamp on to the track. One thing - the lights have a somewhat narrow focus so you need to given them some distance to what they are pointed at so they can completely light the subject. The lights are plenty bright for what we need but I still want to install under cabinet lights.

This is a very attractive and stylish flexible track light. As stated, the 8 foot track is flexible so you can configure it from a circle to a straight line or all shapes in between - you just can't make a sharp 90 degree bend. The construction is top notch with metal supports and light housings – not cheap plastic. Installation is straight-forward – mounts to the junction box and then 4 supports from the ceiling to the track. The lights are very easy to install by using screw caps that clamp the housing to the track. Hardware is supplied in the kit including screw-in drywall anchors. The junction box connection can be at any location along the track as can be the lights themselves. I setup the lights on the garage floor (see pics) to determine light output and its compatibility to my lighting needs in a hobby room (I am replacing an outdated track light). Overall very satisfied and will be hanging the light this weekend.

I will be installing this in my garage for better lighting and remove the current one bulb fixture. Nothing is more frustrating than not having enough light and with 6 led lights,this will shine some needed light into the room. The installation is outright simple and is hardwired using a flexible track that can bend and be shaped into many configurations and is secured to the ceiling using 4 mounted brackets. The light fixtures are then clipped and secured to the track and can be placed where you need them for maximum light shine. The bronze color is a nice alternative to silver or black and will fit into any decor. This would also be great in a laundry room.office,art gallery or anywhere you need some bright directional lighting. The fixture has integrated 42 watt equivalent bulbs and can point in any direction. The track itself is approx. 8 ft long.
