This machine works great. Cut through the stubborn snow drifts better than my last. Definitely happy!

Only used 4 times. About 1/2 hrs to 45 minutes each use. Paint peeling on top chute. Does not throw snow as good as I was told. My 20 year old craftsman works better. And paint did not do this on a craftsman. Gave old craftsman snowblower to son. Time to trade him and get craftsman back. Very disappointed with cub cadet. Hopefully they cover the paint issue. Old blower out performed it all around.

Have owned this machine for just over a year. Even bought 3 year protection plan. BIG MISTAKE! Last snow storm, the right drive wheel started literally sliding out of the chassis. Authorized service center didn't fix it. MAJOR PIECE OF JUNK!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This is my second winter and it has been a great machine. I have broke two shear pins, due to user hitting fallen branches that were buried in the snow. No fault of the machine it did what it was suppose to do. We have had heavy wet snow and very light powder that packed with high winds, the machine just loads up and eats and throws the snow. Using premium gas with no ethanol I had zero issues starting or running while being worked hard. My driveway is 150' long butting up to a county road, even with a foot of snow and high winds I can clear the drive in an hour. Machine performs like a champ I highly recommend it. I see no reason to upgrade to a track drive, just add tire chains and the machine becomes a beast. Hand warmers could be better, well the switch for them is in a horrible position and easy to turned off when working, nothing a piece of duct tape cant't solve to keep from being turned off accidently. All in all the only flaw is the placement of the hand warmer switch. Highly recommend

The Cub Cadet 3 looks to be a good machine, heavy duty. However I bought it on line and I had to assemble the machine as the Evergreen, CO Store did not.

The forward/reverse control detent/lock that holds the lever in R2 is wearing out after approximately 12 uses. R1 is so slow it is useless. Will need replacement before another season. Throw angle control cables retain moisture and freeze. Aside from these issues, the machine works very well on deep snow; plenty of power.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Using the Cub Cadet 3X 30" HD in snow when the air temp is near or slightly above freezing resulted in bent augers because the snow turns to ice if you squeeze it. That's what the augers do, they push the snow sideways and as it turns to ice and jams up the accelerator blade and the auger blades it should shear a pin; but instead the augers bent and stopped turning even though the engine kept running. I guess auger drive belt was slipping instead of a shear pin breaking. I kept turned off the auger drive and used the clearing tool to clean out the chute and the augers of hard packed snow. After doing this several times it did shear a pin on the rear accelerator blade. I'm wondering if my machine has the Heavy Duty 12 inch augerss that the Cadet brochure chart on pp16, 17 states should be installed on this machine or was it built with the 12 inch non-heavy duty augers that are intended for the 3X 28 ?? I would not recommend this to anyone living in the area where the snow may be wet and near 30-33 F on a sunny day.

Purchased this as a replacement (20 yr. old Troy-Bilt) just in time for our third Nor' Easter this month. Powered through 6" of heavy wet snow without hesitating. I also purchased the optional cab enclosure as most of our storms are accompanied with a strong North wind. The controls are straight forward and the cab enclosure provides excellent visibility. I especially like the side reflective strips on the enclosure for night time snow removal. The three LED headlights also provide excellent visibility. Maybe my kids will do all the snow blowing for me!

The machine throws snow a mile. However, the snow chute elevation cables freeze after each use. If it gets warm enough you can thaw them out or just put a heater indet the controls for a while. I've had them replaced with no help. Other than that I can't find anything else bad about the snowblower. Starts great and the 3rd stage just eats through plow piles. It makes me sad that winter will be over in a month and I'll have to put it away for the summer.
