Product Overview

The 3X 3-stage snow blower is the first of its kind and a leader in the snow removal marketplace. First, the collection augers gather snow, ice and slush and move it all towards the center. Then, Cub Cadet's new high-volume accelerator cuts and chops winter's worst. Accelerating it right into the high-performance discharge impeller where it's thrown up and out of the high-impact chute. With a patented 3-stage system, the 3X 30 HD clears deep snowfall up to 50% faster than a Cub Cadet 2X 2-stage snow blowers. That means you can easily and quickly remove 18 in. of snowfall at a comfortable pace. It will even bust through the wall of winter at the end of the driveway left by the street plow. When you have 3X strength, nothing is in your way.

Questions & Answers

Where is this made

Asked by Jake February 3, 2021

Hello Jake. The snow blowers are manufactured in Willard, Ohio. Thank you for your question.

How do you get a replacement led light bar for the front

Asked by Nick December 20, 2020

Hello Nick. The LED light bar is part number 925-05098 and it can be purchased on the Cub Cadet website. Thank you for your question.

Does anyone know the weight? I can not find it anywhere. Cubs website is awful.

Asked by Sam September 14, 2020

Hello, Sam. The 3x 30 HD weighs in at 299 lbs. Thank you for your question.

Does this have hydro trans

Asked by Frankie November 25, 2019

No, selectable step gears. and R1, R2

I’m interested in this snowblower. If I have it delivered will it be assembled?

Asked by Bflodeb November 12, 2019

Mine was mostly assembled, just had to connect a few cables on the back end, and attach the chute. Unfortunately mine was delivered with the incorrect flexible chute control shaft which I am still waiting for the replacement.

Was it the difference between the 3X x 30 HD and the 3X x30 Pro?

Asked by CBCO September 19, 2019

Professional grade features like heavy duty 12 gauge steel side panels and sealed ball bearings for added durability

Premature wear on control lever detents (plastic)
The forward/reverse control detent/lock that holds the lever in R2 is wearing out after approximately 12 uses. R1 is so slow it is useless. Will need replacement before another season. Throw angle control cables retain moisture and freeze. Aside from these issues, the machine works very well on deep snow; plenty of power.

Doesn't do well in wet snow
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Using the Cub Cadet 3X 30" HD in snow when the air temp is near or slightly above freezing resulted in bent augers because the snow turns to ice if you squeeze it. That's what the augers do, they push the snow sideways and as it turns to ice and jams up the accelerator blade and the auger blades it should shear a pin; but instead the augers bent and stopped turning even though the engine kept running. I guess auger drive belt was slipping instead of a shear pin breaking. I kept turned off the auger drive and used the clearing tool to clean out the chute and the augers of hard packed snow. After doing this several times it did shear a pin on the rear accelerator blade. I'm wondering if my machine has the Heavy Duty 12 inch augerss that the Cadet brochure chart on pp16, 17 states should be installed on this machine or was it built with the 12 inch non-heavy duty augers that are intended for the 3X 28 ?? I would not recommend this to anyone living in the area where the snow may be wet and near 30-33 F on a sunny day.

Powerful snow thrower
Purchased this as a replacement (20 yr. old Troy-Bilt) just in time for our third Nor' Easter this month. Powered through 6" of heavy wet snow without hesitating. I also purchased the optional cab enclosure as most of our storms are accompanied with a strong North wind. The controls are straight forward and the cab enclosure provides excellent visibility. I especially like the side reflective strips on the enclosure for night time snow removal. The three LED headlights also provide excellent visibility. Maybe my kids will do all the snow blowing for me!

Pretty good
The machine throws snow a mile. However, the snow chute elevation cables freeze after each use. If it gets warm enough you can thaw them out or just put a heater indet the controls for a while. I've had them replaced with no help. Other than that I can't find anything else bad about the snowblower. Starts great and the 3rd stage just eats through plow piles. It makes me sad that winter will be over in a month and I'll have to put it away for the summer.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Took delivery of this machine a week before the first huge snowstorm in 2021. This machine with its three stage snow moving went through the first round of heavy snow that was 36" high and tossed it effortlessly. The next day was the same amount of snow plus the salt/slush that was plowed into the end of the driveway which was also well handled by this machine. Excellent investment.

3 X 30” HD - Works as Cub Cadet Describes
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Assembled by the local dealer and works well during first two storms. Machine is able to cut through 2’ roadside packed snow/ice pile from a previous storm with no issue.
