I am shocked by these suggestions. The SIMPLE and FOOL-PROOF way to do this is to use painters tape, and tape along the exact edge of the tile, exposing just the grout line (obviously you don't tape the whole tile, just the edge against the grout line). Taping like this is super easy. Then, just use a small brush (toothbrush, small painters brush, etc) to paint on the grout line, working back and forth nicely. Remove tape. Done, and beautiful. I am not a pro and had never done this before, and I did my whole bathroom this way in under and hour, start to finish. Not a dot gets on the tile, so there's nothing to wipe off.
I love what this product did. It’s my first time using it and it changed the look of my entire kitchen.
Never apply a lighter color of this product over a dark color, despite the claims. You have been warned.
no its just a color paint to the grout
Regardless to the other answers, the answer to this question is that it is a sealer as well. I've applied in 2 bathrooms, walls and floors, over 3 years ago and it still looks great. Best to apply over non-sealed grout if possible. If not, I would recommend acidic based cleaner first. One bath I had previously sealed with a clear sealer before deciding to color change. It would not stick to this so I had to clean with acid. After that, all went well. This is a great product and I highly recommend. .
We did. You want it to adhere, and if it is dirty, it might not.
I did use a sealer eventhough the product stated it contained a sealer. Truth be told, I was actually trying to get the grout a little darker rather than really seal the grout anymore. Loved the product overall though.
Yes.
I used Clorox cleaning wipes, a plastic scraper, and a LOT of elbow grease. (I removed the excess from shiny porcelain tile.) Be careful to keep the chemicals AWAY FROM the grout line or you’ll ruin all your hard work. And in the future use a very thin (grout width) paint brush to apply it. I leaned this the hard way also!
Yes, sometimes! If you first use a dark color, going lighter can be a problem. If you are only changing a shade or two, it should work.
