Grout Renew is time consuming and So Worth every minute!

I bought this Grout Renew in charcoal black to update my bathroom floor. I love it! I will say it takes a lot of time with only being able to do one line at a time per square with a tooth brush and then wiping off the extra paint quickly because it drys very fast. It could be a little faster than normal because I have heated floors though. I did one line at a time and then cleaned each side of the grout line on the tile part with a baby wipe, with doing this it saved me hours of trying to scrape the paint off the tile later on like I seen other people do in videos on you tube. I also tried their techniques of removing the extra paint. One did a pen lid with a damp cloth and another waited and scraped the tile and so forth. I am telling you that your finger and a baby wipe on the edge of each side of the tile after application is the most effective way and saves you steps with no need to keep a rag damp and a baby wipe gets tossed out right away so less cleanup. The one thing I did like on the you tube videos that helped was I took a razor blade and cut down my tooth brush to fit the grout lines better. I used a firm toothbrush also. I only needed one bottle for my 8x10 bathroom. I hope this helps.

Bone color over dark grout

I purchased the bone color to cover up dark brown old grout. I love how it turned it out. It was super easy. I d need to apply a few coats and per others’ recommendations, I worked in small sections and cleaned up the sides with a damp paper towel no longer than 5-10 minutes after application. You can scratch the paint off the tile with your nail if it does dry, which is nice. I’m really hopeful it holds up.

With painstaking care during application, this is a great product. I wanted to restore the color of chocolate brown grout that had become light grey over 20 years but otherwise in good condition. Instead of using a toothbrush as the instructions suggest, apply with a very fine acrylic craft brush. Use a disposable plate to put about a quarter-sized diameter dollop on it at a time. Carefully paint on with precision, about 12" - 18" length line at a time and IMMEDIATELY follow with a slightly damp shop rag to clean up any priduct on the tile itself. This stuff dries fast, don't move on until cleaning up well. I then applied sealant using a craft brush the same way 48 hours later. Very happy with the result, our shower and countertop look rich and beautiful again but plan on spending a significant amount of time on the project. I

Easy to use and looks great afterward

Bought this in Bone color as that was similar to my original grout color. Wanted to freshen up my master bath floor as it was looking dirty in grout area. Scrubbed old grout clean and applied this new grout colorant. Went on easy used a small paintbrush. It goes on so easy and I cleaned up with a wet paper towel as I went along. Set up my tower fan to dry. Color went on slightly brighter and dries a little darker. This was one of the easiest projects for me it only took me two days because I took breaks and cleaned up as I went along. Now that the grout has dried I think it looks great and there is no mess. The cleanup from application is also extremely easy. I would definitely buy this again. Remember that one bottle goes a long way. I give it five stars.

Incredibly durable

I bought this in September of 2020 to change white grout to pewter in a powder room. We moved out in 2022 and had renters there until now. I just saw it an it’s still perfect! I’m so impressed. You don’t have to be super precise as once it dries you can scrape it off the tiles pretty easily with a scraper or a cleaner on a rag. It’s an easy process for a nice change to white or cream. In the photo the thicker lines haven’t been cleaned up yet, above was done, below was the before.
