Q:Does this catch coffee grinds?

A:  Thank you for your interest in Danco products and for your inquiry. Unfortunately, Danco strainers do not have a mesh fine enough to catch coffee grounds.

    Q:Is this a viable replacement for a trip lever tub drain strainer like the Danco #88926 which happens to be the size of my current strainer. I'm hoping to prevent future hair clogs so I won't have to continue to remove the aforementioned screw in type.

    A:  We use this in our tub. It catches hair and lint from our clothing. It works well. Have been using it for 2 years now without clogs. We have to clean out the mesh screen every 1-2 days or the water doesn't drain.

            This strainer is perfect for the sink as there is not a garbage disposal in place so everything has to be caught before it goes down the drain. Not only did the package come with one, it came with two in case something happens to the first one. So very happy with it.

              Simple, yet excellent strainer The title says it all. This is a very simple, yet excellent strainer for a kitchen sink. It is 4.5 inches in diameter (edge to edge) and perfectly fits a 3.5 inch sink flange (drain). Made from stainless steel all around with a metal screen that catches everything wider than a toothpick in diameter. No more clogged sinks or having the water not draining using the old bulky strainer. This one is a great replacement! It catches all food particles and is easy to clean by dumping the stuff that stuck out and rinsing. Can also be wiped with a sponge or thrown in the dishwasher for a better clean and disinfect. I was happy to see it in stock at my local store. Right next to it there was also a 3-piece set with this mesh strainer and two smaller sizes for smaller drains. It was a couple of bucks more for the set which is a great option for those who need all three. I only needed this one and was glad I got it.
