A: The plastic adapter holds the spout onto the pipe. The end of the pipe should have a threaded end or male adapter on it. If your pipe does not have a threaded end, then you need to solder one on, or you need to get a different tub spout.

A: Thank you for your interest in Danco products. If you are referring to the adapter bushing labeled "C" on the instructions for model # 80764, there is no special tool for removal of that bushing. We recommend lightly using a pair of needle nosed pliers to apply outward pressure to the inside of the bushing, and then rotating counter-clockwise to remove.

A: Thank you for your inquiry. This tub spout comes with an adapter so that it fits ½” IPS, that adapter is threaded into the ¾” IPS threads in the faucet. It is designed to hook up to a 4” stub out. Unfortunately, this tub spout will not work for what you need.

This is a nice tub spout. I am remodeling the bathroom and bought this to replace the existing tub spout. There's a plastic insert that fits over a 1/2" threaded end. Pretty easy to install. Looks good.
