This saw simply broke apart
I have had this DW304 saw for several years and I thought it was great. I am a home owner and it has not been used commercially. Today I went to use it for a simple job. I picked it up by its handle and it just broke into two parts. See the pictures. I tried to report this to DeWalt via their Web site but the reporting web page fails.

Money wasted.
Got it as Christmas gift, finally get a project worthy of pulling it out, 2nd cut in blade spits free and blade chuck is broke. Wife wasted money, rather work with Harbor freight tools, at least i know what to expect and don't feel bad when they fail so readily.

Excellent reciprocating saw. Way better than a competitors product. Very easy to change the blade and the feature to put the blade in for horizontal cutting is fantastic. Made short work of dismanteling an existing wood deck.
