100 ft. Red Self-Leveling 5-Spot Laser Level with (4) AA Batteries & Case

Super solid construction and looks like it could take a heck of a beating. Dewalt packages it in a nice sturdy plastic case and even includes the four AA batteries you need to power it. This will project five bright red dots for you, front back, side to side and one straight up above. The dots are super bright when used indoors. I tried it outside in bright sunlight and found that the laser gets washed out pretty quickly as you move it away from the surface. Indoors I was able to go a full forty feet and still have a nice concentrated beam with very little fuzziness. Dewalt put a knob on the side that can be turned to move the horizontal beams left/right in order to fine tune them but it is hard to turn and I found that it would cause me to knock the level out of alignment when I had it on my camera tripod. It was much easier to just use the handle on my camera tripod to spin the laser head. To protect the self-leveling mechanism, it gets locked in place when the shutter is closed. A great idea since having that gimbal mechanism banging around inside the unit would surely knock it out of alignment. I used it while installing chair rail in my son's room and it made life so much easier. I setup my camera tripod in the middle of the room at the height I wanted the chair rail to be and was able to quickly place pencil marks on the wall every 2-3 feet just be rotating the tripod head. The chair rail went in perfect and actually lined up at the last joint. I'm not really sure how I would have gone about doing it without this tool since my ceiling isn't exactly level and neither is the floor. Overall, another incredibly well-made product from Dewalt.

The 5-Beam Laser Pointer by DeWalt is a great tool addition for leveling and finding points at large distances. It comes with a good set of instructions but is fairly easy to understand and use. It has a self leveling feature with a fine tuning knob in case the surface is off more than 4 degrees. It works best inside as the laser beam can get washed out in sunlight. It works up to 100'. It's great for finding ceiling points in large buildings. It also can be mounted on a tripod stand. It comes with a hard carrying case and includes 4 standard batteries. The case has nice storage slots for the batteries when not in use. This is a handy tool for the PRO and serious DIYer.

The DeWalt 5-Beam Laser Pointer come with a rugged plastic carrying case. The laser unit is self-leveling when place on surfaces that are within +/- 4 degrees off level. If the laser continuously blinks, it indicates the level is out of range and should be adjusted. There is also a threaded mounting hole to attach a tripod. The laser unit itself is easy to use, with red dots appearing at the right, center, left, above, and below. The units base can swivel, and also has magnets integrated for attaching to steel. Operates on two AA batteries.

Bright beams. Tested outside in partly overcast conditions. A little thicker beam than I expected but it doesn't flare out at distance. Accurate for level but didn't check for square or plumb. Simple to use. Fine adjustment knob a bit stiff.

In 30 feet of tall the point is very long

This does everything I wanted. I looked at a lot of different ones and was able to work with some others. I really like the fine adjustment knob. The dot is a little big. Would recommend to others.

It squares up well it plumes and shoots level excellent and the dot is easily seen.
