The DEWALT DXGNR8000E is designed with the professional in mind. The generator is powered by a premium 420cc DEWALT electric start engine with low oil shut off which protects the engine from damage. The Idle control conserves fuel and reduces noise on the job site. The generator provides feedback to the user with its Smart runtime meter showing how much runtime is left based on fuel consumption. Equipped with GFCI protected outlets for job site compliance and safety. The wattage meter gives instant feedback on how much power is being used. Never flat durable wheels, for maximum portability and durability. The 7.5 Gal. steel fuel tank provides 11-hours of runtime at 50% load. The steel frame is job site tested.

Thanks for your question, Donna! Yes, in order for the electric start to work, the battery needs to be properly connected and charged.
Great questions, Lisa! Any fuel stabilizer for gasoline powered engines is acceptable. The engines in all of our products are 4-stroke.
Thanks for reaching out, Ted. Leaking oil is not normal or expected. We recommend having your generator inspected by a Generac authorized service dealer as soon as possible: https://www.generac.com/home-standby-generators/dealer-locator/
Thanks for reaching out, Stephen! Yes, this generator is two phase (120/240V) and can handle that voltage. Just be sure not to overload the generator: its maximum rated power capacity is 8,000 running watts, and 10,000 surge (or temporary) watts.
Have same issue
Thanks for reaching out about this! Some highly sensitive appliances, like smart refrigerators, require a low THD (total harmonic distortion) to operate properly. Not all portable generators produce a low enough THD to successfully power these appliances with their GFCI protected outlets. To resolve this issue, try disabling the refrigerator's ice maker if possible, and try powering it again. If your fridge continues to cause the generator's GFCI breaker to trip, but it must be powered, consider purchasing an adapter (like an L14-30P to 5-20R) so that the appliance can be connected to the larger (non GFCI) 30-amp receptacle on the portable generator. If these steps do not resolve the issue, feel free to call us at 888-436-3722.
It’s super loud!
Thank you for posting this question. There is no universally accepted method for accurately measuring the sound output, or decibel level, of a portable generator. As you've alluded to in your question, there are many variables that influence how loud a portable generator can be. As a result, it is extremely difficult to provide an exact number, in decibels, that represents volume. For more information, see this article from our help site: https://support.generac.com/s/article/How-Loud-is-my-Portable-Generator
Thanks for reaching out, Heaven! This generator features Idle Control, which automatically adjusts engine speeds to help conserve fuel and reduce noise.
Thanks for reaching out! Generac designs, manufactures, and supports a handful of Dewalt portable generators, including this model.
