What type of fuel stabilizer should I use? Is it a 2 stroke or a 4 stroke engine?
    ByJan 22, 2025
    1 Answer |
    Answer This Question

Great questions, Lisa! Any fuel stabilizer for gasoline powered engines is acceptable. The engines in all of our products are 4-stroke.

Why does it "spit" oil out on the ground and out the back? I did not overfill the oil reserve.

      Answer This Question

Thanks for reaching out, Ted. Leaking oil is not normal or expected. We recommend having your generator inspected by a Generac authorized service dealer as soon as possible: https://www.generac.com/home-standby-generators/dealer-locator/

        Will handle 220 volts?
        ByJan 12, 2025

        Answer This Question

Thanks for reaching out, Stephen! Yes, this generator is two phase (120/240V) and can handle that voltage. Just be sure not to overload the generator: its maximum rated power capacity is 8,000 running watts, and 10,000 surge (or temporary) watts.

Hello, I have a Frigidaire refrigerator model RFG238AARS, but I have plugged into the Generator, it runs for about 8 minutes, then pops the GFCI. I’ve tried both GFCI’s. It does the same thing after about 8–10 minutes.

          Have same issue

          By|Jan 14, 2025

Thanks for reaching out about this! Some highly sensitive appliances, like smart refrigerators, require a low THD (total harmonic distortion) to operate properly. Not all portable generators produce a low enough THD to successfully power these appliances with their GFCI protected outlets. To resolve this issue, try disabling the refrigerator's ice maker if possible, and try powering it again. If your fridge continues to cause the generator's GFCI breaker to trip, but it must be powered, consider purchasing an adapter (like an L14-30P to 5-20R) so that the appliance can be connected to the larger (non GFCI) 30-amp receptacle on the portable generator. If these steps do not resolve the issue, feel free to call us at 888-436-3722.

What are the noise ratings at 6 feet, in open air, in decibels, at 25%, 50% and 90% power consumption of the engine based on those loads at a PF of 0.87 at the 30 amp 240V 30 A outlet. Thanks in advance for your time and thoughtful reply.

Thank you for posting this question. There is no universally accepted method for accurately measuring the sound output, or decibel level, of a portable generator. As you've alluded to in your question, there are many variables that influence how loud a portable generator can be. As a result, it is extremely difficult to provide an exact number, in decibels, that represents volume. For more information, see this article from our help site: https://support.generac.com/s/article/How-Loud-is-my-Portable-Generator

Summarized by generative AI from text of customer reviews

Customers say the Dewalt 6500W and 8000W gasoline-powered portable generators are generally reliable and easy to start, often firing up on the first pull. Users appreciate features like the electric start, CO detection, and ample power output for running multiple appliances during outages. However, some customers have noted concerns about noise levels and the durability of certain components, such as the legs and pull cords. Overall, the generators are viewed as solid options for home backup power, especially during emergencies.

Ordered online, picked up in store. Took generator out of the box, did a quick assembly of the wheels and handle. Filled it with oil and gas, started right up. Ran like a champ.

                        Good Generator
Bought for California wind power shut offs. Worked like a dream and gave plenty of power to run my refrigerator, deep freezer, house heater and miscellaneous lights and small portable electronics. It is pretty loud but what generator isn’t. Would highly recommend so far.

Purchased this 1 year ago about. Well actually 2 of them. They powered my large home and small home no problem. My homes only 100 amps for each house. Ran a reliance outlet to the breaker box so I could run a 30 amp line from gen to breaker .i never have to touch or disconnect and thing . Just shut 100 amp off and then turn 30 amp on and that’s it. Ran four days with out shutting down gen except to refuel. About 11 hours on each tank. Not to bad. Ran whole house

Open box return that was told to me that the weather department went through it to make sure it was in running condition. Although it was a discount of $400 because it was an open box and was told everything was operable after four hours the run time it shut off try to start it electric start didn’t work use pull string. It was in compression stroke and ripped the cord out of my hand breaking my fingers
