A mix of good and inferior quality
The DeWalt door caddy is fairly well made - at least the steel parts are. The end caps are cheap aluminum and deform easily when installing. I needed a hammer to get them to seat properly. I used a soft face hammer and they crumpled like soda cans. The wheels are also plastic, not rubber. Hard, but fairly cheap. The steel parts are well made and one could improve on the wheels and end caps if either fails. Also, the wheels have a little bit of friction against the axle they turn on due to cheap bushings. If I had to use this on a daily basis, I’d probably not opt for it, but for occasional use, it’s adequate. Again, it’s not hard to make this into a much better unit by fitting it with better quality wheels and end caps.

Built like a tank and turns a 2 man job into 1.
I got this dolly because I always have some sort of project or job I'm working on. The problem is that since my brother moved away, I usually don't have an extra set of hands to move larger items. I do have a regular hand truck dolly, but you can't get through tights spaces or doorways when trying to move a big, wide, or long item. This xl door and panel dolly is built like a tank. It has 12" knobby tires that roll easily over bumpy grass. It also rolls smoothly on a flat surface like my asphalt driveway. You can fit items up to 7" wide on this dolly. When you put thinner items on it, the dolly will automatically close and grip the material. The description says this is rated up to 1200 lbs, but the tires are labeled for up to 500 lbs each. I haven't loaded it to maximum capacity, so I'm not sure how well it will handle 1200 lbs. I do know this thing is solid and well-made. I have a ton of steel beams I needed to move for one of my projects I'm building. These beams are solid steel and extremely heavy. It's almost impossible for one person to move them by themselves. Especially since I had to bring them down a narrow path between my house and my neighbors fence. I couldn't move them with my regular hand truck because they were too wide to lay them down and too tall and heavy to stand them up. I placed one side of the beams onto this dolly and was able to move all of the steel pieces effortlessly. I couldn't believe how easy it was. My brother helped me unload the beams and place them where they originally were. They felt heavier when we carried them than they do using this 2 wheeler. I also like that this dolly will help hold up the material that you are transporting. This is one of them products you never knew you needed until you got one. Anybody who finds themselves moving bulky items by themselves should have this. It's great for sheet rock, doors, plywood sheets, long beams, or posts, etc. Basically, move anything that is too big to carry by hand and is 7" wide or thinner. You can fit up to 14, 1/2" pieces of sheet rock onto this dolly. I really like this tool, its veey durable and easy to maneuver.

Heavy duty dolly can be used for many tasks
DEWALT 1200 lbs. Capacity XL Door Frame and Panel Dolly, it came in a very large highly decorated box. I thought it was going to be fully assembled by the size of the box, but as i opened the box i found the instructions for assembly right on one of the flaps, there was also a separate instruction manual in the box. Assembly took abut 3 minites to install the large solid wheel assemblies, as simple as sliding them on and tapping the keeper on with a rubber mallet. Over the last couple of weeks i have used it to move doors, a sliding door, drywall and steel roofing. It has done all of that well and makes a lot of it a one person job. I also have used it to move trailers around on gravel, and a lot of pallets. My only gripe is that it is hinged in the middle to help retain the object you are moving and if you only move 1 sheet of plywood or the such the wheels are at a funny angle and make it hard to move, to overcome this issue i used a small piece of 4 x 4 scrap to keep it wide and the tires on a good angle. Im sure as tough as this dolly is, it will last many years. Cant wait to find more things to use it for to make my life easier.

        In Plain Sight Less Work
Where do I begin, not only is assembly jarringly simple, it's insultingly captivating. This is a deceptively heavy carrier, the picture/display does not project just how heavy it really is. The platform is smooth and non pinching, avoiding catching any plastic protective sheeting. The axle I would drill out for a cotter pin. Upon assembly you will see what I am alluding too.

        Decent dolly
Received this Dewalt 1200 lbs. XL door frame and panel dolly a few days ago. When it arrived I was surprised at the products size. Bigger than I thought it would be. It was packaged very well. Removed the item from the box and the tires were not assembled. Not a big deal. There is a washer that is included for each axle that slides on first, then the tire. To hold the tire onto the axle is a push on (hammer on) chrome button. I used a rubber mallet to put them on. It took a little force but they went on. Because they have to be attached this way the caps are now dented. Although a great sturdy dolly that will do its intended job, they have to come up with a better way to secure the wheels. The dolly rolls effortlessly, and the fold up hinge is a great idea. The dolly is very sturdy and will carry a lot of weight, i.e. drywall, paneling, OSB, plywood, doors, etc. I like the product except for the wheel attachment, and the dolly is a little overpriced in my opinion.

Item has been packed in a damaged box 2 times. First parts were protruding from a box that had also been taped. I believe someone had only repackaged the same box as there was still a hole in the side of the box. I find it hard to believe that Dewalt would sale an item with parts thrown in a box with no packing to protect the item. Appears to me it is a return and Home Depot is trying to unload it on me.
