Very straight smooth cut!
I have this saw a little while now, also have a regular 575 that I call my “demo” saw. This one is for finer cuts and has 60 tooth finish blade. No resistance, cuts nice and straight and clean. Pretty low noise and brake works well. Brake is not instant like a battery saw, but stops quickly. Nice heavy cord and adjustments are solid and simple.

Used on one project and it worked very well and was everything as advertised. Wished it had a light. Only reason for 4 stars and not 5 is that I don't have enough history with the saw. So far I am well satisfied.

Dewalt 15 Amp Lightweight Circular Saw
The Dewalt 15 Amp Lightweight Circular Saw is a great tool. Out of the the box the saw cuts great, the electric brake feature is nice as it stops the blade much faster than saws with out it. The saw is a very light at approx 8.5 lbs and makes it easy for a long day of use. While it is corded the cord is 10 ft long and can obviously be plugged into an extension cord for additional reach. The bevel and depth adjustments are intuitive and easy to use. The saw comes with a decent blade especially for rough cuts if you are looking for something to provide a cleaner cut you may want to consider upgrading. The saw also comes with a decent bag for storage and carrying around. Very happy with this saw and expect it will be a staple in my garage for years to come.

        Not as pictured
Note: this review is my "first impressions" and concerns the description of the product advertised, not its use. I purchased this saw today, driving an hour to the nearest HD store that had it in stock. SKU numbers match...but, after I arrived home and opened the carton, I found that the base plate on the saw I bought looks nothing like the one pictured (I suspect made from a different material), and it does not come with a kit box, but rather the bag as shown with the saw without the brake (model 575S). The box was the draw for me, as my other saws live in a large tool chest, so getting the bag was a bit of a disappointment. I'll be using the saw in the next few days, so I will update my review then.

          Excellent Saw Overall
(First Off: Buy a blue [can't say brand name] 7 ¼" 24T blade where the teeth are "V" shaped, it will cut through any wood in any direction like a hot knife through butter. I speak from experience as other blades would stall in the wood). Pro's: Durable, does the job well with the right blade, love the case it came with Con's: The motor can get in the way of the guide if your guide is more than about .5" thick and the saw is all the way down; cord can get in the way if the saw is all the way down. Both con's can be remedied by positioning saw higher.

The Dewalt 7 1/4 circular saw has performed flawlessly in its first home project’s use, sawed through 4x4’s like a hot knife through butter. No lack of power and very light and easy to control. Very pleased this this purchase. Reviewed most other contenders before selecting the Dewalt.

          Never Expected to be Disappointed
I have used Dewalt tools for over 45 years and have always loved them. I am sorry to say that I cannot say the same about my 575SB Circular saw. I have owned 3 other saws with poorer reputations, and although they were under-powered or heavy they always cut straight. The Dewalt will not cut a straight line out of the box because the blade is mis-aligned with the shoe. In addition, there is not adjustment provided as with other saws. I had cut very thin plywood when I first bought this saw and thought it was difficult to get through the material. I wrote that up to perhaps trying to cut too quickly with the provided blade, but never thought it was the saw's fault. It has not been abused or dropped. I only discovered the problem as I was attempting to cut some a counter top. This is obviously a factory defect, but as I have had the darn thing for over a year now and have trashed the paperwork that came with it (after all, it was a Dewalt - what could go wrong?) I doubt that Dewalt will do anything about it. I could never recommend this saw at all.
