No, mine doesn't have a laser, but has been a very good, reliable tool.
Mine did not have a case. I liked this saw so much that I now have 2 of them. One for the job site and the other that I converted into a track saw. No vibration and very powerful.

Metal. I love this saw. It is extremely well made and the electric brake should be on every saw. It is very stable with no blade wobble or vibration. You can get a shop vac connector to add to the dust port that cuts down about 70% of the dust being thrown out.

There is not a "0" notch on this saw. There is a "0" line which lines up with the left side of the blade. The blade kerf will be on the right side of the "0" line. If you still have a problem I would check that the blade is square with the shoe and adjust if needed as described in the manual.
