I love this saw. I traded in a Ryobi for this one and I'm glad I did. It's lightweight and works really well. I used it on 1/2" and 3/4" plywood so far and it cut very quickly and easily. Installing the blade was way easier and faster than on the Ryobi. I only wish it came with a carry/storage bag and edge guide like the Ryobi saw did. It's not worth it to me to buy the separate edge guide, though.

Cuts are good and straight. I used to cut birch wood butcher block 1.5 thick it did slow the blade down just a little but cut fine.

              Flawless design
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I'm an avid DIYer and hobbyist. I bought this saw after some less-than-satisfactory cheaper saws, and it was so worth it. Everything is streamlined and just where you need it when you need it. I love the very secure positive stops on the bevel adjustment, as well as the degree marks for preciseness. The wrench is stored right in the saw for easy access for blade changes. Cuts through everything like butter. DeWalt is my brand of choice!

I like the weight, power, trigger pull is quick and short. its quiet, cuts well, tracks straight. Good line of sight to blade and cut line. Great cord. Been using for a couple weeks with good results. And it fit in my old skil's case with a slight modification.

No laser guide, and no storage bag/ case. But this tool is a beast. I replaced all of the sheathing on my roof with this saw new out of the box. Cuts better than my cheap skillsaw. Love that it blows away sawdust from your path of cut. Owed for 2 weeks

                Garbage out of the box
I purchased this saw about 1 hour ago. The very first cut deviated by 1/2" over 6". I checked the blade alignment and found that the blade and the straight reference mark were off by just under 10 degrees. This is not an adjustable setting, it is a manufacturing failure. So now I need to pack it up and drive back to the store to return it then drive to Lowes and try a Bosch. I just hope they are not made in the same Chinese factory.

                Garbage!!!
I have been in the trades for 15 years and have used literally hundreds of circular saws. I have always personally used Makita even though the guides tend to stray after hard everyday use. Bought this last fall because it felt good in my hand and was in fact light weight. Cut great for the first day or so and then the guide would be off one day and on the next. Blade walks all over the place (not the result of using cheap blades) especially when cutting along a guide...Almost as if the blade refuses to follow. Today was the last straw... as I clamped a guide to a finished cabinet to cut 5/8" off of it and the blade walked almost 1/4" in 1' !!! Needless to say the Dewalt met God via the pavement and cost me more money than I paid for it. back to the Depot to buy another Makita...

Excellent Quality & Easy to Handle/Use
I am so impressed with the tool. Not only does it have a lever to lock the spindle to change blades, it feels balanced in your hand as you use it. There is no "travel" back & forth from your cut line. If you have to use it left handed & not use both grips, it is very smooth & easy to control. The guide is straight forward. The blade that comes with the saw is multi-purpose & I have found it acceptable for many uses. I have used these type saws for 45 years & this one is the most impressive I have purchased! Best of all is the blade guard does not bind (like most other saws) when starting from an angled edge.
