Q:Hello can be use diablo blade 7 1/4" for my table saw DeWalt 8 1/4" blade?
      by|Jun 10, 2024
      1 Answer
      Answer This Question

A:  No. Always use saw blades with correct size and shape (diamond versus round) of arbor holes. Saw blades that do not match the mounting hardware of the saw will run off-center, causing loss of control.

Good Jobsite Saw but Needs a Stand Mod.
This is a good saw, I have no major complaints about the saw, it is accurate out of the box, on the heavy side for a small jobsite saw but not so heavy that it cannot be easily transported. If you buy the folding type stand for it like I did, don't bolt it to the saw unless you want the saw to become stationary, buy PTO pins to attach the saw to the stand so you can remove them for better portability, see my photos.

Good saw with a few flaws. Could’ve been great.
First and foremost, this is a jobsite saw. It is more than capable of performing on the jobsite. However, after owning the saw for a bit, some of the flaws are starting to become apparent. First of all, as others have said the blade height will not stay where you set it. After scratching my head wondering why my depth of cut had no consistency whatsoever, I decided to look it up ( something I should’ve done before buying ). And to my surprise, this is a common issue on all dewalt table saws apparently. Other models have a nut you can tighten to adjust the preload, but this model doesn’t have this. I figured out that wrapping the shaft of the adjustment wheel with hockey tape made the shaft wide enough to held by the wings on the bevel lock. It’s odd that there are these seemingly useless wings there, almost as it it’s supposed to lock the height adjustment, but it just.. doesn’t?.. anyways, widening that shaft with tape allows the bevel lock to also lock the height. Easy enough fix, but not something i should have to do on a $500 saw out of the box. Second, the table is not flat… it’s close, but not quite. Kind of disappointing, i chose this saw over the rigid because I’ve always known dewalt to have quality tools. Unfortunately this saw just isn’t that great. I don’t necessarily regret buying, because as a contractor this saw fits my needs. It’s portable, powerful, and accurate enough for most things. But if you’re looking for something precise, this aint it. Not that i was expect something super precision, but come on.. i expect a flat table on a TABLE saw lol. Other notes; the bevel will likely need adjustment out of the box, mine was off by a degree or two. Not a big deal and is to be expected. The stand it came with is good, although it comes with bolts which makes it super inconvenient as a portable saw. I quickly ditched them and replaced with lynch pins, and now transporting is easy.   Overall this saw is pretty ok. With a little more QC it could be great, 5/5. Like i said, as a jobsite saw, it’ll do just fine. But don’t expect to do much fine woodworking with it.

Bought used this year for kitchen panel cuts
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I bought this used in the beginning of 2024 (like new condition tho) to cut panels for my new ikea kitchen and loved it. Great adjustability and nice and portable for what it can do. As far as those who are mad about this saw not accepting dado blades - get a bench mount router that can give you exact cuts according to the bit you use. The Dewalt DW7485 is made for conventional cuts (rips, 45's, miters, etc) and designing it for one purpose makes it more precise and durable. Moving on, the fence is easy to use and stays put very well. The fence also stores underneath in addition to the miter for easy storage.

no lock to hold blade height
Nice saw except for the fact theres no lock to keep the blade from lowering while in use. Every few 8’ rips had to keep stopping and raising the blade. Forget about doing any dado cuts. Just to get us thru the one day we had to tape the height knob to the angle lever. Acording to reviews others have the same problem with this model. Will return tomorrow.

                  Product came damaged…
I was excited to unbox this table saw. I've heard a lot of great reviews. I was disappointed to see it came dinged up. It had a pretty deep gash exposing the metal. It’ll probably rust pretty fast. I totally understand it’s bound for it to happen. But I at least want to be the one to cause the dings. I would’ve exchanged it but this was the last one they had in stock.

                    Well worth the price
I looked at several table saws before settling on DeWalt. Well worth the price. Solid quality, and the rack and pinion system of the fence is the best on DeWalt. Small problems existed out of the box, like the blade is just a degree off 90 degree, but a small adjustment takes care of that. Table itself is not as flat as I'd like, but flat enough for a hobbyist like me. Contrary to some reviews that say the fence is not straight, well it is straight through the cut but tapers of ever so slightly at the end, and that is actually a feature to create space for the workpiece after the cut to avoid kickback. Overall, very nice table saw and I am fully satisfied with the purchase.

                    Dented Table Top
I just received my new Dewalt Table Saw. When I unboxed my saw I found it had a small dent in the table. I havent finished reviewing the manual yet so I have yet to do a function check. I’m not sure if the dent is an issue I should pursue with HD. Thoughts?

                      Very disappointed!!
Saw works great but its limitations are very disappointing. I bought the saw to use it to build cabinets. I spent lots of time building a table for it to sit in only to find out that it WILL NOT accept a ditto blade. Now I have my money and time invested in a saw that will not work for me. Very disappointed! I have many Dewalt tools but this one is disappointing. Guess I will have to find a replacement that I can afford. Just have to wonder how much Dewalt saved by making the motor shaft 1/2” shorter?

                        Great saw
I paired this with a Dewalt DW7440RS rolling table saw stand, and it’s and impressive combination. As for the saw it’s ergonomic, plenty of power, and well designed. In that combination I have no problem running 3/4 sheet goods by myself . Not something I can do with the light low quality saws. I haven’t found anything anywhere near the price range that can compete with that combination.
