So far so good in interior light, during the day but full disclosure have not used this outside in the daylight.
Yes, I used it for this, it also pivots if it isn't making full contact you can move it. I hooked it on the door hinge with the magnet.

According to the User manual, this is a Class 2 laser product so it is eye safe and you don't need special safety glasses although these are always recommended. If not wearing safety glasses, you should not stare into the beam directly for extended periods of time because that can cause damage to the retina. I have always used mine without glasses but I am used to working with optical fibers and know the dangers of lasers.

sorry , no . There is mechanism to limit swinging of pendulum (amplitude, frequency) ,but not lockable manually. Why not ? or they think it is tough enough to withstand . It causes more question and comparison and make think twice before buying it.
