Questions & Answers

which nailer is the right one??

I'm new to the world of Nailers. I most definitely want a cordless product. but which one will be good for everyday projects around the house?
Asked by: curiousbeginner
No finish nailer will do it all this brad nailer is for smaller trim installation, I have used it on some baseboards, but if you need a bigger gauge nail for installing large crown moulding or something like that. Again this nailer does work for a lot of things but most finish carpentry people have a 16 gauge or 15 gauge nailer along with this one.

Can you charge a 20-v 4ah battery on the nail gun charger

Can you charge a 20-v 4ah battery on the nail gun charger
Asked by: Smitty
IYup! I have an 5ah on mine now. They all interchange. One charger does all of them, 20 volt,,,,,My whole work truck is nothing but dewalt 20 volt tools, That's the beauty of the dewalt system! If my battery goes down, "which is not very often!" , just grab another battery from one of the others in the truck. The "brushless" tools are much, much easier on batterys! My dewalt sawzall will eat up a battery if I use it hard, but it isn't brushless, as will my 4 and a 1/2 inch grinder. But my hammer drill and impact driver will last weeks of hard use without rechargeing! The small battery on the "hammer of Thor!" nailer, has never let me down though! Yeah, I call it that, cause it winds up and "pow!" Yeah I'm a nerd, but knows how to fix things!:) I've done trim on a whole house and never had to recharge the battery, even the small one once! I'm sure if you were doing a floor or something, the small battery wouldnt hold up, but I've never had it happen yet!

Will this nail gun run on the 20V flex volt battery ?

I was told that if the battery will slip in and lock in place than it should work.

YES, works just fine.

I had to go to 4 different Home Depot’s because each store was sold out. As soon as I got it home. It was easy set up and I was using it in 5 minutes. I love the fact that the range of nail length is pretty big. Amazing nail gun

I've been using it for a few weeks now installing trim molding around a new outside staircase and trim around post wrap. The nailer is light enough that it does not tire out my hand and arm. And it is quick to refire, although I haven't used it in contact mode yet as I am doing more of precision nailing rather than rapid fire. For the most part it does a good job. I haven't had any jams. But I noticed the nailer will not use up a complete clip of nails. It consistently stops firing when I get down to about 10 nails left in the clip. I haven't been able to resolve the problem yet. So other than wasting a few nails each clip, it does the job well. My next project is interior trim and I am confident the Dewalt will work fine.

Had some warped quarter round nailed in by “professional” with huge gaps I removed it, and reapplied with warps and all and it is beautifully flush. Will use this for my Goodworks days avoiding compressor and hoses. Highly recomended
