Brings the power
I bought this to replace lighter duty black and decker battery trimmer. I’m able to trim my 1/2 acre yard on a single charge (low power mode). I didn't even need to switch to more power, this has plenty of power for me even cutting 12” tall grass.

Powerful, Strong, and has Versatile Batteries
I suggested that my daughter who had just purchased her first home get one of these. I had the opportunity to try hers out when i visited. I was very impressed that it had very ample power and that it has two speeds to allow folks who aren't that strong to handle it. I have other 20 volt DeWalt tools and am glad that my previously bought batteries will work in this unit. I also advised my daughter that she can do the same when she gets some more power tools. I looked at the non-folding counterpart to this trimmer and it seemed flimsy. I figured it was worth a few extra bucks to get this one. A really nice thing about this tool is that it works well to edge my lawn - I have an old gas powered Weed Eater and was looking for an edger. However, after trying my daughter's trimmer, I decided to retire my old gasser and join Buck Rodgers in the 21st century and go electric. Now I have a powerful trimmer that functions as an effective edger too. It is nice to see that the battery form-factor will works on so many other DeWalt tools - including the lawn mowers (for when my wife can no longer push our manual reel mower; take it easy there haters - she does it for exercise and does not mind). The only thing I would suggest to make this unit more customer-friendly, is that the screws holding the line guard use Allen-heads the same size as the included wrench for the Auxiliary Handle. That way the user has everything they need to get going right in the box. One final point; I saw a negative reviewer complain about the weight, balance, and lack of ambidexterity of this fine product. To that I say; maybe try one from another maker - it will likely not be as good as this tool (i.e. flimsy, lousy batteries, right-hand preferential, weak warranty, etc., etc., etc). The competition may be a less heavy but for me, when it comes to tools robustness is worth the extra weight.

      Trimmer Bump Cap Cheap Quality
I bought this trimmer in the middle of the summer in 2020. I have a very small corner property in a rural neighborhood. I rarely have to do any trimming because most of the time I can get it all with my lawn mower. It is June 26, 2021 and this is the first time this season I have used it just to sharpen up the edges and clean the curb/road growth. I love this trimmer, except for one major problem, the shipped trimmer cap is made of pretty cheap plastic. I have probably only used the trimmer a total of 5 times and the bump feed cap is eroding away at a pretty fast pace. I did see someone else post that as an issue when they purchased it, saying they bumped on some rocks and the trimmer cap busted. But I went with the purchase anyway since my space is not rocky nor does it have any challenging features. I'm surprised and disappointed in how quickly the cap is shredding with such light use. I do see there is a replacement head but I will have to buy the whole assembly and not just the cap. I am hoping the replacement is of better quality plastic. The rest of the trimmer, the electric motor, the stem, handle, battery housing all feel and seem to be high quality, so again, pretty odd place to cheap out on parts. So I still recommend if you have a smaller property and only do light trimming, just be prepared in a year or less you might have to buy the replacement head. A tip: if you use this trimmer with the Flex Volt instead of just the 5 hr 20v that comes with it, I feel like it gives the trimmer that extra boost. The 5 hour 20v seems to run down pretty fast with this trimmer. It's pretty light weight, I do like the folding feature but honestly do not use it that often. Powerful enough for standard weeds and grasses that grow up between the curb and the road. (Also the guard popped off yesterday, I guess the screws vibrated out and I probably won't find them in my yard. So check those occasionally)

        DO NOT BUY
If you are looking for a trimmer that literally eats line and was designed to solve problems that didn't exist, this is the trimmer for you. The head is a serious design flaw. Bought this because I was sick of lugging my other Dewalt trimmer back and forth to our weekend place. I have the prior model and it's very good. The head here, although easy to load, is flawed. If you encounter any resistance while trimming, from a landscaping stone or rock, to house foundation, to a tough weed, it pulls line from the head, eating line. If you lightly set the trimmer head the ground for a second with it stopped, line is release on start up, eating line. sometimes, the power on start up will spin line out, eating line. I trimmer maybe 70 feet of flower bed yesterday, this is what I picked off the line. Three total times using this, each for maybe 10-15 minutes, and I'm now on the third spool of line. My other dewalt trimmer, which is similar to the current 925B (same head) would last the summer at both places combined. So I clearly have something wrong with the spool on this one, which means a design flaw. It spins to loose and easy to spool line on, so it clearly is to loose to use, allowing line to fly out under all conditions.

Surprised with the power of trimmer, not balanced well
The blower performed as I expected. Its not meant for large jobs but works great for blowing off the deck or driveway. The trimmer however, really surprised me with how much power it had. I have about 35 minutes worth of trimming to do and it is just as strong if not stronger than my stihl trimmer. The 5.0ah battery died after 30 minutes of heavy use. The only downside to the trimmer is that its not balanced very well. Even with the 5.0ah battery it is still alot heavier at the trimmer head, making it harder to hold. Would not want to trim very long with it. Would give 5 stars if it was balanced better.

            Returned items sold as new?
I am just opening my trimmer and haven’t used it at all yet. When I opened it to assemble, it was covered in grass and has obviously been used and returned. (It was only used lightly) I guess I am being a little picky since I haven’t used it yet, but I feel if I am buying something new, I shouldn’t get a used item.

This trimmer exceeded expectations and did an excellent job!
I don't write many reviews, only when the product exceeds expectations and performs really well. I bought this today for my daughter and trimmed her entire yard, including 2 foot grass along the fence and landscaping beds that have not been serviced for over a year. I'm an electrical engineer that designs BLDC motors and controls and I'm very impressed with this device (I've been impressed with all Dewalt BLDC designs I've tested). I didn't think a 20V 5Ahr battery pack could perform the way this did, and it was very impressive! I compliment the Dewalt engineers for a great design!.

                So Far So Good
So far I' m happy with my purchase..Has good power and also the run time isn't to bad considering its cutting through allot of stuff so if you have a well maintained yard and only have to keep it on low then you should be able to finish most all yard work before the battery goes dead..My only complaint is wish they would have made the guard wider and just all around a bit more wider so stuff doesn' t fly up as often as it does... mean don't get me wrong its not the worst ever but being that its Dewalt they know darn good and well they could have made the guard better all around though its a great weed eater for sure

                  Best weed eater ever used
I recently purchased this weed eater and finally got to use it and man does it have power. I’ve always been skeptical towards battery weed eaters versus gas, but DeWalt pulls through as always. I’ve landscaped sine I was a kid, although high school and college for work and have generally stuck with Stihl or echo. I would put this up against either of those any day of the week.
