Q:why does the top two photos have the dcd996 (brushless) pictured with the title dcd985 (brushed)?
other photos below show the dcd985 brushed motor, the back end is more rounded on the brushed motor.

Worked great for my task, cutting thick ivy roots from trees. It’s super convenient for quick small jobs and easy to use one handed. Downside is there is a lot of vibration, not optimal for precise cutting. You definitely need the extended battery for any project over 20-25 minutes. It’s got a lot of power for a small cordless and chews through the battery like it does the wood.

Vibration overload
I bought this item in the spring of 2020 and have 2.5 years of usage to look back on. It has been a good tool and performed well. The compact size of the saw attracted me to the item. I have used it for a variety of projects, demolition, remodeling, cutting beams, cutting tree branches, cutting small firewood. The vibration from the saw has given me quite a few blisters and the performance is lacking compared to similar items. I just upgraded and am much happier and have a similar sized tool.

I just got this DeWALT 20 Volt MAX Cordless Combo Kit 6 tool with 2-20 Volt 5.0Ah Batteries & 1-Charger mdl# DCK694P2 I will leave a review when I have tested it for a bit, but I will leave a review after using all tools for a month or two. I examined them & they are constructed with high quality parts & materials. The bag has great stitching, a nice zipper & several pockets on the inside & outside for accessories & parts. Shows no mercy
Love love love this saw I use this thing all around the house built a add on shed and just finished cutting fence post around the farm. Lightweight great pair with a 6 or 8 ah battery. Never bogs down either!

Powerful and compact
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I was worried that the smaller nature of this sawzall and the fact that it was cordless would mean that it wouldn't have the power of a normal size one, but it's a beast. I love this thing. The 4 position blade slot is an awesome feature too.

I love this reciprocating saw
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I've had this reciprocating saw as part of my brushless combo kit for about a year. Combined with the 20V 6.0Ah battery, this thing feels unstoppable. I mostly use it (with a Diablo blade) around the farm in place of my small chainsaw, so much lighter and easier to get into tight places to cut limbs, roots, small trees, brush, briars, etc.

Perfect quick 'chainsaw' alternative
I have owned this saw for 6 months now and every time I find a chance to pull it out I do. I've used it to cut up 50 pallets to build a treehouse. I've also used it to cut limbs down in the backyard after the most recent storm. Love this tool be sure to buy the 5.0 amp hour battery it pulls a lot of power.
