The plastic protective sleeve on the fixed end falls off every time I use it. I finally glued it on with some Lexel. If it hadn't been for this little issue I would have given it a 5 star rating. I will purchase another one.

The Dewalt 12 inch heavy duty bar clamp (f-clamp) is very well made and such a handy tool in my workshop. I really like how easily it adjusts on the slide bar with a lever release that is easy to operate and with a very secure grip, so it won't slip. The clamping force is 1000 pounds and holds strong and tight. The throat capacity is 3 1/4 inches and the adjustment handle is comfortable and easy to grip. It comes with a limited lifetime warranty. I'd definitely recommend it for the professional craftsman or home craftsman.

I like this product because of the assembly of it. The steel components versus plastic components other clamps have makes me feel like it won't blow apart under a load. The second thing I like is the fact that it has a true 24" clamp capacity. Certain other clamps are labeled by the length of the bar, therefore your actual clamping size is only about 21-22". This clamp is a good addition to your shop or truck, and should stand up to time & use.

So far I am pretty impressed with this clamp. First it is heavy duty; rated at up to 1000 lbs of clamping force. Don’t know that I can get it to that, but impressive. The bar is heavy enough to not flex on most work being done. One of my favorite things are the easy to grip quad lobe handles. Not like some older clamps that had smooth wooden handles. The 2 ½ inch throat will be fine for most jobs that I do.

When you pick up this bar clamp, you’ll see why they call it “heavy duty”. With its sturdy, steel bar and cast iron jaws, it weighs a hefty four pounds. The ribbed, rubber covered adjustment handle provides a firm, steady grip so you can get the clamp really tight - up to an impressive 1000 lbs of force.
The center point on the 1” round pressure pad is 3 1/16” from the bar providing a versatile deep throat. The triple plated lock switch holds securely and releases with a quick flip. However, the plastic protective cap on the fixed bar can slip off while you’re adjusting the clamp, if you’re not careful. That said, this is a good value and a welcome addition to my other clamps.

Frustrating experience
Not what I expected from home depot. Ordered 2 6" HD clamps online, was sent 3 copper plumbing elbows instead. Reordered after waiting to get refunded. Correct order finally arrived but damaged this time. They dropped 2 heavy clamps in a big box with zero padding or wrap. In transport they were tossed around together, ends came threw the box and had a ton of the yellow paint chip off everywhere in the box. After all that the factory fit and finish of the castings is horrible. What a nightmare.
