No penetration power
Using the thing to tack 1/4-inch pine strips to pine 1x3's and there is no penetration. The photo shows two brads in the thin strip. One was put in at max dial setting and the other at min dial setting. This is the last dewalt product I'll buy.

    garbage - do not buy
I just wanted a stapler to drive T25 staples to hold wire fencing to pressure treated lumber. Got home, loaded the 1/2” T25 staples which have a rounded top to go around low voltage wires. Tried them in a piece of pressure treated lumber and it smashed them flat and could not bury into the lumber. What good is a nice rounded staple if it smashes them flat? It would damage your wire. Maybe its ok for stapling wires to sheetrock but forget about lumber. Dewalt failed on this one. Note in the photo I attached how the staple looks before driven and then how it is smashed. Note left side did not penetrate wood at all.

      Powered stapler
This is a stapler w/a power cord. Highly overpriced. It said "great for installing trim" The nail sticks out almost 1/16"

I love this tiny fastner. It has so many uses and I don't think I have even used them all yet and I have had it for 1 month and use it ever day. I love the quick and smooth reloading and that it is very light probably 5 or less pounds. I hate that it's not cordless...I mean a little 2ah 20 volt batteries would to this tool justice. But over all still a great buy. Thanks again Dewalt

Great for many projects around the house and garage like window valences, upholstery, and other arts and crafts tasks. When you have to use lots of staples for a project it beats using the manual ones. It's faster and more secure. Misfires once in a while and loading the staples could have been made a little easier, but other than that it did what we needed it to do.

I bought this product as an addition to my R&D prototyping shop to quickly tack together small things that are being glued. It works great for just that. Its able to put 5/8in brad nails through plywood up to 1/2in thick if you stabilize the back with both hands. Once you get into sheets of plastics and other materials you need a little more power. Overall, it serves its purpose as an inexpensive solution to tack small things together while gluing up.
