Hello, this model DCS571B is a tool only and does not include the battery or charger.
I bought this saw. It says it cuts to 1-9/16", but mine only cuts to 1-1/2. Actually, only to 1.4", after cutting a 2x6 it left about 2/10" uncut. The board hinged down and snapped off ragged. I inspected the guard, blade and adjustment, it all good.
I have this saw and it cuts 2X dimensional lumber perfectly, but only if the shoe is perfectly against the board. I notice people holding it at an angle all the time, so make sure you're not doing that.
The DCS571B saw’s maximum advertised cutting depth of 1-9/16" is based on a new, correctly installed 4-1/2" blade and proper adjustments. Cutting depth may be reduced if the blade is worn, not fully seated, or if the base plate is not adjusted to its lowest setting. A 2x6 board is thicker than the saw’s max depth, so it will always leave some material uncut. If you’re only reaching 1.4" with everything checked, verify blade diameter, type, that there’s no debris or obstruction limiting depth, and ensure the depth adjustment lever is fully released. I have this saw and is relatively new. As soon as I begin a cut (of anything), blade stops turning. I’ve checked the blade and it is tight and I also put in a new battery to no avail.
This saw tends to get gummed up, especially with treated lumber. Make sure its not all full of shavings. Also, be sure it's not getting too hot. There's a thermal protection on this thing it seems.

If the DCS571B saw blade stops turning under load, check for a dull or damaged blade, debris jamming the guard, or binding in the cut. Also, ensure the blade is correctly installed and rotates in the proper direction.
