    Ok,In my opinion this is the lowest level of tripod the offer. I went ahead and returned this one and paid double for the next step up. It is a much higher quality model and is well worth it. I suggest you do the same.

    What is this lowest height and tallest that it adjusts to?

    Simply stated, this is not a product worth buying, even for a one-time use job unless you have no other option. You're much better off spending the money on an actual camera tripod. (The laser itself is just fine) Cheap plastic connections mean that adjusting the legs is a burden and the locking mechanism inside the leg broke upon first use. Once you get the tripod leveled out, using the swivel mechanism to shoot/transfer a line becomes difficult because of the attachment portion of the tripod that connects to the Laser itself is of low quality. Trying to adjust and maintain the angle portion of the unit is far more difficult than it should be. The height adjustment track has metal bits that eat into the plastic itself because the motion of turning the lever causes it to turn into the plastic channel, eroding it away. By far the worst product from DeWalt I've ever bought or used.

    After pulling out my tripod for my second job i nocticed my adjustable crank snapped in bag through transport . Still can lift and lower by pulling it .

    I bought bothe the cross level laser and tripod to...
    I bought bothe the cross level laser and tripod to properly install recessed lighting and hang crown molding. I pulled the trigger on Dewalt because I'm using my tools more frequently and wanted to step up from Ryobi. The quality of the level and tripod were both built well and so far look to be more durable over the Ryobi products in used to. Reliability so far so good. I even bought the Dewalt adjustable speed orbital sander because my Ryobi crapped out. So far I'm happy. Also, Home Depot price matched my Dewalt purchases so I got the best tools at the lowest prices so it definitely 5 stars.
