Questions & Answers

Can you hook it up to Wi-Fi or blue tooth to electronically control it?

Asked by: Washed
Yes, but unfortunately there is not an app for Android. The iPhone app works great. Very easy to setup.

What is the work around to keep this unit from walking all over the place when in use? The pressure washer “walks” all over the place under load

Asked by: Dewaltfan
I have one not made by Dewalt but also walks a bit so I just use an old rubber door mat under the legs. This stops it from moving.

I bought this exact model pressure washer for my power washing business but I seem to be running into a pressure issue. Is this pressure washer able to draw water from a static source? I have a 125 gallon tank mounted in the bed of my truck and the pressure washer also mounted in the bed less than 5 foot away from each other. But I have to squeeze the hose for the pressure washer to start sucking the water into the pump, and when in use I constantly loses pressure. Is there anything I can do to fix this issue?
Asked by: DPWS
I’m fairly certain only reduction gear style and belt driven pumps are self priming. Direct drive washers require hose pressure.

Can i use TruFuel gas on these

Asked by: Don
I run TruFuel in my unit with good results. I think TruFuel avoids the problems such as corrosion caused by fuels containing ethanol. If you do run gas containing ethanol, I would recommend a treatment such as Stabil.

Honda GX200 3,400 PSI 2.5 GPM Gas Pressure Washer is rated 4.0 out of 5 by 586.

I decided to upgrade my old Troy Bilt washer, and gift it to a family member. Was pretty happy with the years of service from the old one! Honda engines! Can't go wrong! But this beast was impressive right away! I could feel the difference from 2600 PSI to the 3400 in all my uses. But with the surface washer, I could really feel it, and see it. I might have a learning curve for the other uses, and be more cautious of getting too close to some things? I have only had it for a week, but I love the heavier duty construction, and I know that is part of what I paid for. So overall, I anticipate years of life with this engine, and the beefed up pump! I couldn't be happier with the extra money I spent. I know there are cheaper models with similar specs, but sometimes you really get what you pay for... If anything happens this year, I will certainly comment about it! But I am totally impressed and happy with this purchase. I am a DeWalt tool fan, but I am not biased. This washer is impressive!

I purchased this as an early fathers day gift and after reading the instructions I got to work cleaning my truck after about 20 minutes the pump started making a bad clanging sound, of course I turned it off and when I did it backfired about 4 times and died, couldn't get it started. Packed it up and took it back to the Home depot. And they said they needed to have the service department look it over and needed a chance to fix it. After talking with the manager and seeing I wasn't getting any where with him I agreed and I said I'll be back in 2 days like he wanted. After the 2 days he said it was not fixable and gave me money back. I'm very disappointed in this Dewalt product it did get good reviews and I was very disappointed. My last pressure washer was a huskey that lasted 12 years.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Not for everyone, but it is a great machine Dewalt makes great tools, no doubt about it. This pressure washer is not for the everyday user in my opinion. Unless you read the manual thoroughly you will surely have problems with this machine, however, if you follow the directions, it works great. Most of the comments I read are probably from users who just take it home, add water and gas and start using the machine without any sense of direction. Too many comments about blown pumps, AAA pumps are time tested and guaranteed for 5 years. You can not let these machines run wide open with the trigger released ( READ THE MANUAL) for more than 2 min. (Major pump damage from doing this) Simply shut it off and do your texting or whatever after it is shut down. Most people with a little common sense will have little trouble using this machine. A IQ test prior to purchasing would probably eliminate all the negative feedback given this machine. My machine runs great, no problems.

I have accumulated 20 hours of use, and with one exception my experience has been good. The one problem I have experienced is the failure of the thermal relief valve which began leaking after 15 hours of use. Fortunately, the thermal relief valve is readily available, relatively inexpensive, and easily replaced. One word of caution: DO NOT stop spraying water for more than 2 minutes while the unit is running. When you stop spraying the pump enters bypass mode, no more cool water enters the system, and the existing water in the system recirculates. The water in the system rapidly heats up and the pump will be damaged if it gets too hot. The thermal relief valve is supposed to protect against this, but the best practice is to either shut down or limit the time you stop spraying while running. Also, when you shut down, the pump crankcase is hot, and that heat will soak into the water side of the pump. This may heat things up enough to temporarily trip the thermal relief valve. I avoid this by cooling the pump off a bit by continuing to spray through the wand for a short period after I shut down.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Pump is garbage and Dewalt Service absolutely Sucks! I've owned this pressure washer for just a few months. It has gotten a total of maybe 10 hours of use. During use, a piece of the pump somehow managed to disintegrate and shoot into the air - it's gone, but I believe it was the threaded soap inlet. Water spewed everywhere. I own very few Dewalt products, but figured they were a solid company and replacement would be as easy as a phone call. Upon calling them, I found out that they do not deal with servicing or parts for the pumps on these washers, and I'd have to take it to a "service center". First hurdle would be to find my "proof of purchase" for this item - because they absolutely "must have it". For some reason just looking up the estimated purchase date by serial number is too complicated for them. The other issue is that not only is the service center almost an hour away, they also said they were 6 weeks out on repairs! I will never again purchase any Dewalt product after this very negative experience - especially for being the store's 2nd most expensive pressure washer.

I decided to retire my 17 year old PW that I bought from Northern Tools due to pump issues that have developed on it lately. The main reason I bought this DeWalt machine was because of the Honda motor. Those motors are true workhorses, and can withstand just about any conditions most users would put them through. If I can get the same longevity out of this machine that I got from my old one (which also has a Honda motor that still runs great), I'll be happy. I use these machines commercially a lot, and it seems that the pump is usually the weak link on most machines. The DeWalt pump appears to be built fairly sturdy. Only time will tell, but I'm fairly sure I made a good purchase.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Compact and powerful! As a step up of from consumer-grade washers, this product is relatively inexpensive and delivers significant additional cleaning power and run time. (I've owned two consumer grade washers prior to this one, and the difference is easy to see.) Easy to set up out of the box. Five spray tips from pin-point, to three fan-outs, and soap spray give reasonable variety in application. The large gas tank can power the washer for many hours before needing a refill. The connections for supply and spray hose are up top and easy to get to, as compared to other models I've used where they are underneath. Downsides: the rubber pads supporting the back legs disintegrate when the washer is running and placed on a concrete or other abrasive surface (i.e., my pool deck). It leaves a black puddle of gunk that you have to come back and wash away, and not all of it DOES was away, even with the pressure washer itself. The unit also tends to "creep along" as it runs, because of vibration. My solution was to put a folded towel beneath the rubber feet. This usually stopped the creeping and kept the black goo from getting onto the deck (at the expense of ruining the towel).

Bought this expensive power washer hoping that the extra investment would pay dividens in performance and longevity. Durning the first year had intermittent issues with pressure loss. Second year, pump has completely failed. Cost $400 to replace pump and am not willing to spend that and waste more money on the same product that has already failed after being used as recommended in the manual. Total waste of money!
