Questions & Answers

Will it fit a rockwell
ByMay 20, 2026

Answer This Question

The DWA4204 oscillating blade is compatible with most major brands, including Rockwell. However, fitting may not be guaranteed for older Rockwell models with proprietary connectors. Most newer Rockwell tools accept universal accessories like the DWA4204.

How does this blade compare to carbide blades? Can this blade be used to cut screws too?

    Answer This Question

Depends on the screws and how much heat is developed. It holds up under normal use but after a few screws it loses its ability to cut effectively. I prefer a sawsall when possible for cutting screws. But this blade works great on all types of PVC, wood, etc.

I need to replace a section of a bottom plate 2x4 from inside the house. I already cut out a section of drywall to expose the plate. Instead of using sawzall this tool might work better as to not damage the external plywood or paper house wrap. How deep of a cut will this blade attached to the tool allow to make?

The DWA4204 will cut up to a depth of approximately 1-1/2".

      By|Nov 14, 2018

With the DeWalt Oscillating saw, it is approximately 2 3/16th inches.

Between 2-3 inches. If you can cut on the flat top all the way in the 2 x 4, you should be good but if you have to go through the 4 inch side, there’s no way you’ll make it.

No, this blade is made for wood with nails, what you need is the DWA4220 blade, this is made for grout.

                Answer This Question

This blade should have no problem cutting wood or composite boards. Some composites might wear it down faster if they have abrasive materials in the mix. Can it cut through nails? The reviews show two people who couldn't cut more than ONE nail. One of them, oddly, gave a high rating anyway. If there's a nail you can't get cut any other way, then I guess you could justify ruining a $15 blade. Just hope you don't need to do that often.

I've used this with a Milwaukee M12. The M12 does not have the power of an 18V. With this cutter it was hard to tell. It cut through some 2by4's like BUTTTARR!
