Why would a 1/2" bit have a 5/8" guide bearing. I lost $30

Why would a 1/2" bit have a 5/8" guide bearing. I lost $30
Asked by: Eddie
I lost $30 also. Forget using the hinge to make your own template. I emailed diablo. They basically don’t care that it wasn’t stated anywhere on the package when I bought mine that the bit and bearing are different sizes. In order to use this bit, you need to make sure you have a template that matches the offset or just use trial and error to make your own like I did mine. So not only did I waste at least $30 worth of time making a template,I now have a $30 bit I’ll likely never use again. Frustrating to say the least.
