About This Product

Diablo's 10in. x 60-Teeth Fine Finish Saw Blade is perfect for crosscutting oak, pine, melamine, plywood and moulding. Cut from hardcore steel with high-precision lasers, the blade's ultra-thin kerf design provides fast, effortless cuts. A non-stick Perma-SHIELD coating protects the blade from heat and corrosion to reduce friction and pitch buildup. Laser-cut stabilizer vents absorb noise and reduce vibration for added user-friendliness.

Is this blade a full thickness Kerf or a thin kerf?
BySep 20, 2024
1 Answer |
Answer This Question

This blade has a thin kerf. The specifications from the product details page list the kerf as .098". A thin kerf blade is generally considered to be under .125" (1/8").

My new Skill table saw says not to use a blade with a kerf less than .1". This blade is .098", which is .002 thinner than .1". Does that tiny bit matter?

3/32” at the teeth. Should leave a 1/8” cut in the wood.

                      Decent cut
Replaced my blades on my Miter saw and Table saw. A definite upgrade from the blades that come with the equipment. These are for general perpose cutting, if I wanted a better cut I should have gone for the fine cutting blade, but these are still good.

                        Diablo finish blade
I have been buying Diablo blades for many years. They used too last a long time, Iam a retired finish carpenter who now builds Acustic guitars. Iam on my 2nd 60 tooth blade in 3 months, Believe me I do not cut too much maybe 6x a month. I even tried the Diablo Black that blade lasted a bit longer but very hard too find.

This relatively inexpensive saw blade excels at both ripping and cross cutting. I have been using it to table saw 3/4" maple and 3/4" Baltic Birch plywood. As a new blade, it cuts thru both types of wood smoothly and almost effortlessly. But I am most impressed with how true the blade runs. The attached photo shows my measurement setup with a dial caliper to measure out-of-plane run out. After using a new blade for a couple of weeks, the run out measured less than .002 inches peak-to-peak as the blade is rotated through a full revolution, which is excellent. (The arbor is dead flat with no measurable run out.) I am hoping the Diablo blade remains this true for a long service life. If so, this two-pack is the best saw blade value I have found.

Bought these on a whim thinking I would use them for some demo material on an upcoming project. I decided to try one out on a current project with solid Maple, Baltic ply and Maple ply. I have to say it cut everything easily, smoothly, with minimal tear out and no burn. I did rip cuts, crosscuts and even tried some re-sawing. After that I even went back for another package.

Great blade. Thin kerf. About 3/32". Made very good (smooth) cross cuts for me in Red Oak veneer 3/4" plywood. Used to to make 45 deg angle cross cuts as well. Used it on my table saw. Minimal chipping out of the veneer. Of course ripping a board, it's terrific.
