    Answer This Question

A:  This tool wouldn’t be suitable for working on a surface with a small inside radius or other narrow or tight areas. It “might” be good for wide flat surfaces. I believe it would cut wood too aggressively and result in gouges or deep cuts. It's good for working with metal surfaces. I use mine for sharpening lawn mower blades and for removing rust from flat surfaces.

A:  Hi John, this flap disc is recommended for metal only.

Bought this after teying everything to remove the paint off the deck on the house we bought. This saved our marriage lol. Saw it on a you tube video and thought what heck nothing else has worked. It took of the paint like magic! To be clear it take it off and also grinds down the wood but we needed to take of like 1/8th to 1/4 of an inch due to the pressure washer gouging the wood. It took of paint smooth the wood out and all we had to do was go back over the wood with 100 grit sand paper to prep for stain. It takes a steady hand to control not gouging the wood but I highly recommend it! Nails and screws did not tear up the disc!

Disc was larger diameter than the shield. So I removed the shield to get the disc installed. Neat Design but was fat and hard to get into small places.

I guess these disc's are good for actually sanding but they are so awful at removing material from he wood surface. What happened to those old sanding discs that you could use to shape the wood? These ones just turn black and become burned smooth...even on redwood!
