Q:I just bought my stick fast sanding kit at Home Depot two days ago. While using it 30 minutes into it the middle piece broke that connects to the drill. Why is that? Also why is the plastic holding together the hex screw or whatever and not more metal?

Needs washer to keep head attached
This works well for 1-2 minutes then the plastic head becomes detached from drive shaft. I fixed easily with a small washer . I removed sanding pad cut 1” round hole thru foam/pleather pad to access Allen screw head under pad. Removed screw. Found appropriate washer reinstalled screw with washer. Works perfect now. I bought 2 of these because first one broke and I didn’t think to try and fix first tool I bought. Good luck will need washer

Not so Great
Removing paint from a metal door. Worked great for 5 minutes before the arbor unscrewed from the disk. I had to cut the pad to get an allen wrench on the bolt to reattach the arbor.

Diablo sanding adapter.
Disappointed that this product only lasted me about 10 minutes, it was really getting the sanding job done quickly. Then the bolt that connects the sanding pad came loose. You guys need to fix that defect.

It's was working fine until the rubber pad disk separated from the drills shaft.

Fell apart within minutes
The metal part that holds the disk to the drill unthreaded itself with less than an hour of use. The way it’s designed, you can’t put it back together. I didn’t even get a full drill charge worth of us out of this piece of crap. DO NOT BUY!!

Don't buy
They said you shouldn't use at high speed but even at low speed the sandpaper goes flying off the pad then it won't stick again. I only bought these because my local home depot was out of the corner cat sandpaper, I regretted it immediately.

Worked great for intended task. Used it to smooth out the cut edges of sheet metal duct work. Rubber backing helped with rounding the corners while sanding. For less than $10, when used with the proper drill, it can take the place of other, more expensive sanding tools.

I liked this product a little more than I rated it, only because of it's sanding abilities. You pop it into the drill chuck, put your sand paper on and it really grinds off whatever your trying to sand. The problems I found with it are, of course, 1) you can't sand into a corner; 2) if you start off at top speed with your drill, it's going to wobble badly, making concentric rings on whatever your sanding; and 3) make sure that all staples and nails are removed from what you're trying to sand or that if you have inside corners, like a cabinet face you be very careful when approaching it. You'll wind up ripping off your sand paper and cutting into the pad of your sanding disc. Go slow and be light handed.

I had no problem with it sticking during operation, but...
I had no problem with it sticking during operation, but it wore down before the job was done. Could be the way I was holding it though since it was my first time sanding. Before the disc wore out it sanded great.
