Q:will this blade cut the 3/4 trim
by|Jul 31, 2023

Answer This Question

A:  Unsure what you are asking regarding 3/4 trim. I used it successfully to cut many pieces of hardie board from 1/4” -1/2” thick. Use a good mask, lots of silicate dust in the air from this blade.

Q:Would this create less dust than the Hardie cuttting tool drill attachment? I'm cutting 1/2" cement fiber board.

    Answer This Question

A:  Regardless of more or less dust weather a good dust mask. I would say/guess less. My cuts were straighter & faster than any drill attachment would be. However smaller cutouts, like for outlets & shower bodies would be more difficult.  If you’re cutting more than 1piece it’s worth it. IMHO

      Answer This Question

      A:  Yes.

      by|Apr 16, 2023

A:  Blade is under 1/8 " thick. I have only used it cutting Hardee board siding which is does a good job at.

        by|Apr 15, 2023

A:  i wouldn’t use that blade to cut 1/4 lines in sidewalk, i myself, if i had to do that then i would go get me a diamond blade. or i would rent a concrete saw.

            Keeps on kicking!
I had this blade for over 2 years and used it to cut Hardie Plank for residing for my whole house, my daughter's garage and to cut the 1/2" backer board for my bathroom floor. I was skeptical about a blade with only 4 teeth. It is now down to 3 and is still cutting fine. Don't know what grade of carbide these teeth are, but it is good stuff. Very durable and smooth cuts.

You get what you pay for - learn from me
The blade in expensive, but you get what you pay for. I sided my 2,000 sq ft house and went through a couple of blades. At some point I used a blue blade from the other HIW store trying to save a buck and that was a mistake. It quickly dulled and started to smoke and bent. Just buy it, you will be happy with the results.

Ended up buying the $17 competitor.
I bought this blade and it cut about 6in of concrete. I thought I got a dud so I bought two more and got about 10 feet cut out of the three blades. Went and bought the $17 competitors blade and cut about 40 ft and finished the cut this Diablo couldn't. Don't waste your time. Pictures is how long the first blade lasted.

I am Builderbud and provided the 1 star rating on the 5.5" fiber cement blade. (Not sure why I did here under the 7.25"...) Anyway, I took B Meyer's advice in his response and bought 2 7 1/4" blades to finish my project. The blade RPM rating matched my circular saw and was actually higher than my 10" bench saw RPM. So, I made about another 35 cuts with the circular saw and about 130 cuts on the 10" saw and that blade never gave out. Lesson learned, RPM makes a difference and I apologize for the 1 star review on the 5.5" blade. I didn't even need the other 7.25" blade, and recommend Diablo fiber cement blades emphatically. I seems like having only 4 teeth is what reduces the dust CONSIDERABLY!

If you have to cut into Hardie or other fiber cement siding, this is the blade. If you read ratings in homebuilding magazines, this one comes out on top again and again. I've burned up a lot of "bargain brand" blades trying to make the same cuts that are easy with this one. I can usually get about a hundred cross cuts out of one before it slows down. It can be used after that for rough cuts.

Makes clean cuts that I don't have to file after. Very good blade that makes siding easier and has held up well. Thin kerf and accurate. If you do fiber board siding you want this blade.

I needed a circular saw blade to cut some Hardie Board. What was so shocking to me is that there is a saw blade specifically made for cutting fiber cement board, because the caution on all cement board is to avoid using power tools to cut the stuff because of the dangerous silica dust. So I figured Id find a blade that would get the job done, but never imagined Id find a blade specifically made for cutting the stuff. Due to the long strips of cement board that I needed for my application and being those strips needed to be an exact with. Scoring and breaking the cement board just was not going to do as it leaves rough uneven edges. Anyway I picked up the blade at my local home depot store and got straight to work when I got home. Let me tell you. This thing cuts through 1/2" and 1/4" Hardie Board like a hot knife through butter leaving very clean edges. I was thoroughly pleased. I cut up a couple sheets of hardie board with this blade. In the end I inspected the blade like I do with all of my saw blades before I put them away. Didnt notice any bent, dull, or missing teeth. I do have one gripe about this blade and that is the price. It just seems to expensive for a circular saw blade. I understand that the teeth are diamond tipped, but still. 4 diamond tipped teeth at this price is a bit much. This blade is still absolutely deserving of 5 stars as spending a few extra bucks to get the job done fast and right is of no consequence. I really do recommend scoring and breaking cement board though as silica dust is some dangerous stuff. If you absolutely must use power tools to cut the stuff. Please do so out doors. Wear an approved dust mask and eye protection and stand down wind of the cut.

What a great saw! I needed a saw to cut Hardie Board so I went on Home Depot and found a blade (WHAT A GREAT SAW) cuts like butter and and the blade is so narrow that will cut as a very thin line. Also you will get less dust from the blade. I also used the blade on my table saw. I will have to purchase another blade so I wont have to keeping changing blades. For what you pay for the blade is worth the price.
